The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in special session at the <br />Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina on Thursday, October 2, 1975 at 4:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Present - Chairman: S. Glenn Hawfield, Jr. <br /> <br /> Commissioners: Robert A. McClary <br /> John A. Hammett <br /> Marcelle Milloway <br /> Roger G. Hinson <br /> <br /> At 4:00 p.m. the Board accepted and read the following bids for landscaping at the <br />ne~ourthouse: <br /> <br /> Company Base Bid 3 Live Oaks Maintenance Agreement <br /> <br /> Barnett Nurseries, Inc. $13,594.00 $1,125.00 $2,050.00 <br /> Carolina Nurseries 13,166.00 2,700.00 1,420.00 <br /> Crowell Nurseries 13,429.50 2,400.00 3,000.00 <br /> Davey Tree Company 11,407.45 2,250.00 3,000.00 <br /> Fairforest Landscape 13,820.50 600.00 2,400.00 <br /> Gilmore Plant & Blub 15,168.00 1,350.00 2,000.00 <br /> Green Thumb, Industries 17,340.65 1,500.00 2,600.00 <br /> Landscape Consultants 27,385.00 1,500.00 5,000.00 <br /> L. A. Reynolds Co. 14,165.00 1,155.00 No Bid <br /> Wilson's Nursery 10,295.00 1,100.00 1,800.00 <br /> <br />Commissioner Hammett made motion to accept low bid for base bid and maintenance agreement <br />given by Wilson's Nursery subject to verification of the contract specifications by the <br />architects. Commissioner Hinson seconded the motion and vote carried. <br /> <br /> J. Maxton Elliott, Attorney, reported that all rights of way except on a seventeen (17) <br />acre tract belonging to AME Zion Church has been purchased to run the sewer lines from <br />the Health Department to the Outfall Lines of Concord Light and Water Department. There <br />is a possibility that the property cannot be condemned since it is burial grounds. They <br />want more than the 50¢ per linear foot offered. The Board requested that Mr. Elliott <br />contact the Minister to determine what they would settle for and report back to the Board. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hammett made motion to appoint Dale Nixon to the Jury Commission. <br /> <br />Commissioner McClary seconded the motion and vote carried. <br /> The Board toured the new Courthouse. <br /> <br /> Having no further business, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> ~o the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
