The Board of Commissioners for the County of Caba2~ met in special session at the Courtho~e

<br />in Concord, North Carolina on Thw~sday, November 18, 1976 at 4:00 p. m.

<br /> Upon the request of Mr. Stokes White, Commissioner Hammett made motion to endorse the county
<br />
<br />government pa~cipa~on in the bloodmobdle program to be held January 17, 1977. Motion seconded
<br />
<br />by Commissioner Cook and vote unanimously carried.
<br />
<br /> Commissioner Ham~ett made motion to adopt the following resolution. Motion seconded by
<br />
<br />Commissioner Cook and vote carried unanimously.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Cabarrus County is the owner of real property lying on the East side of Church Street,
<br />
<br />Sou~h, and the West side of McCachern Boulevard; and whereas, said real property is adjoined on the
<br />North by the property of Concord-Kannapol~ Savings & Loan Association, hereinafter referred tv as
<br />"CKS&L";
<br />
<br /> AND WHEREAS, CKS&L desires to acquire from Cabar~u~ County the land hereinafter described and
<br />
<br />referred to as Tract B so that it may construct a building on its property;
<br />
<br /> AND WHEREAS, CKS&L has offered to convey to Caba~u~ County the land hereinafter described
<br />
<br />referred to as Tract A and pay to Cabarru~ County the sum of $7,500.00 and demol~h the budding on
<br />said Tract A and pave Tract A at no expense to the County in exchange for the conveyance by Cabarru~
<br />County of Tract B hereinafter described; and whereas, the Board of Commissioner~ is of the opinion
<br />that the exchange of said property in said manner would be in the best interest of Cab~rus County
<br />and would enhance the value of its real property by giving it 31.42 additional feet of frontage on
<br />Church Street, South; and whereas, the value of the t~act of land to be deeded by Caba~us County to
<br />Concord-Kannapolis Savings and Loan Association is $9,144.50 more than the value of the t~act of
<br />land to be deeded by Concord~Kannapolis Savings and Loan Association to Caba~ County.

<br /> Tract A of said property is described as follows:
<br /> TRACT A: Lying and being in Ward No. 3 of the City of Concord, Cabarru~ County, North
<br /> Carolin'a, on the East side of Church Street, South, and being a part of the property
<br /> known as the Winecoff Service Station lot, and being more pa~cularly described as
<br /> fo ows:
<br /> BEGINNING at an ~ron stake in the edge of the sidewalk on Church Street, South, corner
<br /> of Concord-Kannapolis Savings and Loan Association (formerly Winecoff Service Station
<br /> lot) and Caba2c~us County, and runs thence with the line of Caba~r~ County, N. 31-05 E.
<br /> 108.05 feet to an iron stake, an old corner; thence a new line S. 47-49 W. 103.32 feet
<br /> to a point in the edge of the walk on the East side of Church Street, South, thence with
<br /> the edge of the walk, S. 41-54 E. 31.42 feet to the
<br /> BEGINNING, containing 1,620 square feet, more or less, as surveyed and platted by
<br /> B~lly B. Long, Registered Land Surveyor, November 3, 1976, TOGETHER WITH all of the
<br /> right, t~e and interest of Concord-Kannapo~i~ Savings and Loan Association in and
<br /> to the walk between the said property and Church Street, South, and SUBJECT TO the
<br /> right of way of said walk and Church Street, South.

<br /> Tract B of said proper~y is described as follows:
<br /> TRACT B: Lying and being in Ward No. 3 of the City of Concord, Caba~us County, North
<br /> Carolina, on the West side of McCachern Boulevard, and being more pa~icula~ly described
<br /> as fo ows:
<br /> BEGINNING at a point in the curb on the West side of McCachern Boulevard, corner of
<br /> Concord-Kannapolis Savings and Loan Association and Cabarrus County; and runs thence
<br /> S. 44-01 E. 30 feet to a p. k. nail in McCachern Boulevard; thence a new line S. 47-49
<br /> W. 275.23 feet to an iron stake, an old corner of Concord-Kannapolis Savings and Loan
<br /> Association and the property formerly known as the Winecoff Service Station lot; thence
<br /> two lines of Concord-Kannapo~is Savings and Loan Association as follows: Ist, N. 31.05
<br /> E. 68.1 feet to an iron stake; 2nd, N. 44-58 E. 209.31 feet to the BEGINNING, containing
<br /> 5,830 square feet, more or less, as surveyed and platted by Billy B. Long, Registered
<br /> Land Surveyor, November 3, 1976, and subject to a right of way for McCachern Boulevard.

<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Cabarru~ County intends to convey Tract A to Concord-
<br />
<br />Kannapolis Savings and Loan Association in exchange for Tract B and the sum of $7,500.00 and
<br />
<br />the agreement by CKS&L to demolish the building on Tract A and p~e Tract A at no expense to the
<br />
