Upon motion of Commissioner McClary, seconded by Commissioner Cook and carried, a discussion on the <br />MinJ3mmm Housing 0mdinance was tabled. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mary Mickey speaking for the Extension Homemaker's Clubs asked about future plans for housing <br />of the departments presently occupying the county building on Church Street. The Board stated that <br />possibly the county buildings on Cabarmus Avenue would be renovated for these departments. Commissioner <br />Milloway made motion to have Architect, George Griffin, investigate how the remaining two buildings can <br />be best utilized. Motion seconded by Commissioner Cook and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Gilbert Johnson of Sherrill g Smith, CPA's presented the 1975-76 audit report. <br /> <br /> The County Msmmger is to get with the architect and select some signs to designate that a snack bar <br />~is located in the basement as requested by Ben King with the Division of Services for the Blind. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Convaissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner McClary and unanimously carried, the <br />following resolution was approved. <br /> <br /> Whereas, an ordinance entitled "Ordinance Governing The Management Of Solid Waste in <br /> Cabarmus County, North Carolina" was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on August 5, <br /> 1976, and whereas, a franchise to collect solid waste in a defined area of Cabarrus County <br /> was granted to Frank Fleming; and whereas, Frank Fleming has contracted to transfer said <br /> franchise area to Willie Davis; and whereas, the Cabarrus County Health Director has <br /> approved said transfer and reconmended that the Board of Conm%issioners approve the same; <br /> NOW, 1/~EREFORE, be it resolved that the transfer of the franchise area for the <br /> collection of Solid Waste granted to Frank Fleming until June 30, 1980, in the aforesaid <br /> ordinance to Willie Davis is hereby approved and said franchise area is hereby designated <br /> Willie Davis Franchise Area B and the franchise area granted to Willie Davis in the <br /> aforesaid ordinance is hereby desigD~te~illie Davis Franchise Amea A. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Milloway made motion to pay the final bill for genemal construction of the Health <br />Department Building to Harkey Construction Company for $16,518.55. Motion seconded by Commissioner <br />MeClary and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Cb~J_rmsn Hawfield, seconded by Con]missioner McClary and carmied, the following people <br />were appointed to three year terms beginning January 1, 1977 on the Health Board: Dr. Freeman C. <br />Dr. Linny Baker and Joe Pike. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner McClars;, seconded by Commissioner Cook and unanimously carried, the <br />following two resolutions were adopted. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Conmissioners of Cabarrus County received a resolution from the <br /> Town of Mt. Pleasant requesting that Dog Ordinance adopted by the Cabarrus County Board of <br /> Commissioners effective March 1, 1976 apply to and be enforced within the Town Limits of Mt. <br /> Pleasant, North Carolina. <br /> AND WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners desires to honor said request <br /> and to make said Or~linance apply to and be enforced within the Town Limits of Mt. Pleasant, <br /> North Carolina; <br /> NOW, %HEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cabarrus County Dog Ordinance which was effect- <br /> ive March 1, 1976, be and the same shall hereby apply within the Corporate Limits of the Town <br /> of Mt. Pleasant and the Ca~s County Dog Warden and his assistants and other law enforce- <br /> me~t officers ar~ hereby instructed to enforce said 0rdinanee within the Corporate Limits of <br /> the Town of Mt. Pleasant. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The Board of Commissioners of ~s County received the following resolution <br /> from the Town of Harrisburg: <br /> "WHt2IEAS, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners adopted an ordinance to be <br /> in full force and effect on and after the 1st day of March 1976 making it unlaw- <br /> ful for the owner, keeper or harborer of any dog to permit such dog to run at <br /> large on any public road, street, highway or upon the lands of any other person <br /> without the consent of that person. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Harrisburg on <br /> this 8th day of March, 1976, that it hereby request this Dog Ordimmnce apply to <br /> and be enforced within the Town Limits of Harrisburg, North Carolina." <br /> AND WHEREAS, The Ca~ County Board of Commissioners desires to honor said request <br /> and to make said Ordinance apply to and be enforced within the Town Limits of Harrisburg, <br /> North Carolina; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cabamrus County DOg Ordinance which was effect- <br /> ive March 1, 1976, be and the same shall hereby apply within the Corporate Limits of the <br /> Town of Harrisburg and the Cabarmus County Dog Warden and his assistants and other law <br /> enforcement officers are hereby instructed to enforce said Ordinance within the Corporate <br /> Limits of the Town of Harrisburg. <br /> <br /> <br />
