WHEREAS, a p~ition has been duly pr~ ented to the Caba~rus County Board of Commissioners by ~,ore than fifteen percent (15%) of the resident freeholders living and residing in the Georgeville Fire District and WHEREAS, under the provisions of the North Carolina General St~utes, the Board of County Co~missioners shall therefore cal~ an election in said d~t~ ~ct for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters t~r~in the question of levying and collecting a special tax on a~l taxable property in said district for the p~po~ e of providing f~e protection in said d~t~ict. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Comm~s~ners of Cabarr~ County that ~he Caba~ County Board of Elections hold an election fo~ the Georgevi~e Fire Dist~ct to determine the questio ~ of levying and collecting a specia~ tax on all taxab~e property in said district for the purpose of providing f~e protection in said district and that said election I,e held on June 4, 1977 if possible. County Manager Charles McGinnis report¢ ~ that he had received a bid of $950.00 from Smith Air Conditioning of Concord for an air conditioning and heating unit and installation in the magistrates office. CommiSsioner McCla~y made motion a~thorizing the County Manager ~o buy and install the unit. Motion seconded by Commission~ Hammett and vote ca~ried.
