46 <br /> <br />Architect Griffin reported that he had talked to F.ale Office Outfitters <br />and Miller's Office Supply and they had agreed to an impartial drawing, <br />to determine to whom the bid is to be awarded. Conmtissioner Millcway made motion to award <br />the bids for furniture and accessories to the low bidder in each section <br />and to Kale Office Outfitters in Section 4 S. Motion seconded by Commissioner <br />Hanxnett and vote carried. County Manager Cha]:les McGinnis is to arrange for <br />the moving of the Department of Social Services when the building is completed. <br /> <br /> Rowan Vocational Workshop reported that five people were being aided and <br />three applications had been received. Seven people who were helped last year <br />have transferred to the Cabarrus Workshop. A total of fifteen slots were <br />still allotted for Cabarrus County. County Manager, Charles McGinnis, is to <br />make a reconmendation concerning funding at the next meeting. <br /> <br /> Conmtissioner Han~nett made motion to co asider a county pay plan. Motion <br />seconded by Co~ssioner Cook and vote una] ~imously carried. County Manager, <br />Charles 'M~Ginnis, represented a uniform 4% ~o pay plan with 2¼% between steps. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Harm~tt, secorded by Con~nissioner Cook and carried, <br />apay plan'with' Sala%7.. grades 48 'to 90 wi~ a starting salary of $5,000.00~a 4%% <br /> <br />increase between salary grades and twelve steps in each grade was adopted. <br /> <br /> The contribution to the Cannon Memo]ial I,ibrary was discussed and the <br />amount increased to $62,250.00. <br /> <br /> Ccmm%issioner Milloway made motion t¢~ authorize the County Manager to take <br />whatever action may be necessary to notii.i~ otn_~ congressman that Cabarrus County <br />would like to see S716, counties to get in~lirect costs on health and mental <br />health programs, passed.
