Cook

Jim Lumsden, from the State CETA Offices, explained the procedure for budgeting
for fiscal year 1978. Cabarrus County is the only county in his region that has
more positions than money. He recommended that we submit a budget providing for
the total amount of our allocation and submit a supplemental budget for the
remaining positions. Cabarrus County CETA Administrator, Mike Hunsuck was
instructed to submit a budget including all present county positions along with
the state positions in the Department of Social Services, and to submit a
supplemental budget requesting funding for the remaining state positions except
~ive poaitions with the Department of Cultural Resources that are not in Cabarrus
County and the position with the Department of Transportation.

Pursuant to a request from John Q. Burnett, Secondary Roads Councilman,
Commissioner Hammett made motion to concur with using secondary roads funds for
the paving of Rollingwood Drive (SR 1507) for the needed amount to meet the
total participant cost. Motion seconded by Commissioner McClary and vote unanimously
carried.

A Housing Assistance Program to be built on Kansas Street that would consist

of sixty one bedroom units for the disabled, handicapped or elderly was discussed.
More information from the home builders in the county is needed before the Board
is ready to give its endorsement to the Program.

The petitions asking for a fire marshal were discussed.

Upon motion of Commissioner McClary, seconded by Commissioner Hammett and
carried, meeting adjourned.

Clerk t~the Board
