112 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner <br />Hammett and carried, approval for the moving of the satellite <br />health care program to Logan Center was approved. <br /> <br /> Mr. Don Goins, Assistant District Engineer with the <br />Department of Transportation, and Mr. T. L. Patterson, District <br />Engineer, presented the proposed 1977-78 Secondary Bond <br />Construction and the 1978-79 Secondary Construction Budgets. <br />Chairman H~wfield presented a list of needed improvements. <br />Mr. Goins is to determine cost estimates of the construction <br />projects on Mr. Hawfield's list. He is to come back to the <br />special meeting on February 21 and at that time the Board will <br />decide what they would recommend to have top priority. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner <br />Hammett and carried, the road petition requesting addition of <br />Valwood Terrace, Valwood Street and Valwood Court was approved. <br /> <br /> The requested rate increase for meals served to Kannapolis <br /> jail prisoners was approved. Townhouse Restaurant will be paid <br /> $1.25 for each meal. The County Manager was authorized to make <br /> a counter offer of $1.25 for breakfast and $1.35 for lunch and <br /> dinner to the Hotel Concord. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner <br /> McClary and carried, the audit contract for fiscal year 1977/78 <br /> with Sherrill & Smith, CPA'S for $12,000.00 was approved. <br /> <br /> Total expenses for vehicle maintenance and repairs for one <br /> half the year was $50,059.63. This figure included extensive <br /> repairs to some heavy equipment which should not occur again <br /> during the last part of the year. It was estimated to cost <br /> approximately $80,000.00 for all year. The estimated expense <br /> to set up and operate a county garage for one year is $83,351.00. <br /> The County Manager was authorized to locate a suitable garage <br /> between Concord and Kannapolis. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner <br /> McClary and carried, the resignation submitted by Carl O. <br /> Overcash as a member of the Cabarrus County Watershed Improvement <br /> Commission was not accepted pending further information regarding <br /> the nature of the resignation. <br /> <br /> <br />
