Polk <br />Tom Kiser <br />John Faulks <br />Mrs. Pansy Kiser <br />Wallace Halsey <br />William Fink <br />Jimmy Atwell <br /> <br />1 Year <br />2 Years <br />1 Year <br />2 Years <br />2 Years <br />1 Year <br />2 Years <br />2 Years <br />1 Year <br />1 Year <br />2 Years <br />1 Year <br />2 Years <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner <br /> <br />Hammett and carried, James Pharr's title was changed to Fire <br /> <br />Marshall with a portion of his job discription being assistant <br /> <br />to the Emergency Services Director. <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commis- <br /> <br />sioner Hammett and unanimously carried, the following ordinance <br /> <br />was adopted: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Courthouse building <br />has been constructed and said building and the surround- <br />ing premises are maintained for the use of the general <br />public in transacting the business that the public <br />might have with the offices, agencies, departments or <br />courts that are housed in said building; <br /> <br /> And whereas, it is in the best interest of the <br />public that said building and the surrounding premises <br />not be a gathering place or center for persons who do <br />not have any business or are not present to transact <br />any business with any of the offices, agencies, depart- <br />ments or courts located in said building; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of <br />Commissioners of Cabarrus County: <br /> <br /> 1. That no person shall be or remain inside the <br />Cabarrus County Courthouse or on the surrounding premises <br />owned by Cabarrus County to include the adjacent walk- <br />ways, yard and parking lot, unless he or she is present <br />for the conduct or transaction of business with any of <br />the offices, agencies, departments or courts located in <br />said courthouse or is present as a spectator in the <br />public section of any courtroom or is present as a <br />spectator at any public meeting of the Board of Commis- <br />sioners or other public meeting authorized to be held <br />in said Courthouse. <br /> <br /> 2. Any person who is not authorized to be inside <br />of the Cabarrus County Courthouse or on the surrounding <br />premises as set out in 1 above and who remains on said <br />premises after having been instructed by a County <br />employee or law enforcement officer to leave said premises, <br />shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction may <br />be punished by a fine not to exceed Fifty. Dollars ($50.00) <br />or imprisonment not to exceed thirty (30) days or by both <br />said fine and imprisonment. <br /> 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect <br /> upon its adoption. Adopted this 9th day of February, 1978. <br /> The Board decided to act on each individual request for <br /> <br />Courthouse usage. <br /> <br /> <br />
