353 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board designated November 12, 1979, at 10:00 A.M. as <br />the date and time for a public hearing on the closing of~Wolf Meadow School <br />Road (S.R. #1535). <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved, that this Board of County Commissioners <br /> does, in accordance with Section 153A-241 of the North Carolina General <br /> Statutes, hereby declare its intent to permanently close all of Wolf <br /> Meadow School Road (formerly State Road 1535) and to call a public hearing <br /> at a meeting to be held before this Board on the 12th day of November, <br /> 1979 with reference to this question. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Bonds and <br />unanimously carried, the Board designated November 12, 1979 at 10:30 A.M. as the <br />date and time for a public hearing on the following road name changes. <br /> <br />FROM: <br />Oakdale Drive (SR 1863) <br />Oakdale Drive (SR 1862) <br />Meadowood Lane <br />Cliff Fink Road <br />Greenwood Drive (SR 1829) <br />Cedarfield Drive <br />Cedarcroft Avenue <br />Stirewalt Road (portion of) <br />Black-Sand Road <br />Unnamed Road <br />Unnamed Road <br />Unnamed Road <br />Unnamed Road <br />Unnamed Road <br />Unnamed Road <br />Unnamed Road <br />Unnamed Road <br />Unnamed Road <br /> <br />TO: <br />Newton Drive <br />Canton Drive <br />Gregory Road <br />Abilene Road <br />Coulwood Circle <br />Bealgray Road <br />Crofton Avenue <br />Rankin Road <br />Christopher Lane <br />Hudwal Road <br />Grissiom Village Road <br />Beard Road <br />Urban Drive <br />Honduras Street <br />Alleghany Street <br />Celtic Drive <br />Airway Drive <br />Barrington Place <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Allen and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved foreclosure by action on delinquent <br />tax accounts and instructed the Tax Collector in conjunction with the County Manager, <br />the Tax Supervisor, and the County Attorney to proceed with this matter. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following addition to the secondary <br />road system - Monford Drive, Springhill Subdivision, Section 2. <br /> Mr. Archie Y. Barnhardt, Finance Director for Parkwood Sanitary District, <br />presented information pertaining to the water and sewer rates charged Parkwood <br />Sanitary District. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Bonds, seconded by Commissioner Milloway and <br />unanimously carried, the Board voted unanimously to ask the Local Government <br />Commission to investigate the rates charged Parkwood Sanitary DiBtrict. <br /> Mr. Peter Kaplan, Architectural Historian, presented slides of historical <br />properties within Cabarrus County. <br /> UPON MOTIOM of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />carried unanimously, the Board approved the Historical Preservation Grant and <br />appropriated an additional $1,973.00 from the Commissioners' Contingency Fund <br />to the Planning Department budget. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Bonds, seconded by Commissioner Allen, with <br />Chairman Cook and Commissioner Milloway voting yes and Commissioner Lentz voting <br />no, the Board approved the following resolution: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A COUNTY-WIDE GRID <br />SYSTEM FOR HOUSE NUMBERING AND PROPERTY <br />IDENTIFICATION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the County of Cabarrus has and is currently experiencing s~bstantial <br />growth, especially in the residential sector and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS there has been no established comprehensive county-wide system from <br />which to base the assignment of house numbering and property identification and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the County Commissioners of Cabarrus County have recognized the need <br />for the systematic rapid referral to the location of properties throughout the <br />County by establishing policy and firm guidelines for effecting the eradication of <br />duplicate or deceptively similar street names and further recognize that the health~ <br />safety and general welfare of the citizenry is dependent on a sound county-wide <br />property numbering system and, <br /> <br /> <br />
