359 <br /> <br /> Mr. T. L. Patterson, District Engineer for the Department of Transportation, <br />was present to request that the Board adopt a resolution approving the widening <br />of Manor Avenue extending from the city limits of Concord. This project would <br />be funded by money appropriated from the State of North Carolina to Cabarrus County <br />for secondary road improvements. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Chairman Cook with Chairman <br />Cook and Commissioners Lentz and Allen voting for and Commissioners Milloway and <br />Bonds voting against, the Board adopted a resolution approving the widening of <br />Manor Avenue. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by CommiSsioner Bonds and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the addition of Biggers Road to the State <br />secondary road system. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Bonds, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board agreed by resolution that the bridge at Rocky River <br />on Derita Road should be repaired in such a way to permit a school bus to cross <br />safely. <br /> Chairman Cook asked Mr. Patterson about the tonnage limit on the bridge at <br />Cold Water Creek on Old Salisbury Road. This bridge has been upgraded but the <br />Department of Transportation has neglected to show the change in weight limit <br />from the 9 tons now posted for the bridge. Chairman Cook requested Mr. McGinnis <br />to write David Roberts, Division Engineer, Department of Transportation, to ask <br />that the tonnage limit be raised. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following resolution: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE ANNEXATION OF <br />TERRITORIES TO KANNAPOLIS SANITARY DISTRICT <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF CABARRUS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus <br />has determined and does hereby find and declare: <br /> (a) That on November 13, 1979 a resolution was received from the Sanitary <br />District Board of the Kannapolis Sanitary District relating to the annexation <br />of. territories to the Kannapolis Sanitary District. <br /> (b) That'the territories described in the various petitions consist of <br />the following: <br /> (1) The property of Newmoon Nolan Jung and wife, Karen Davis Jung, <br /> located on Westwood Drive, Cabarrus County, North Carolina. <br /> (2) The property of Lafayette D. Morgan and wife, Vernice R. Morgan, <br /> located north of Centergrove Road, Cabarrus County, North Carolina. <br /> (3) The property of C. L. Isenhour and others located on Glenwood Street, <br /> Rowan County, North Carolina. <br /> (4) The property of Gary L. Hamblin and others located on Moose Road, <br /> Rowan County, North Carolina. <br /> (5) The propertyof Kannapolis Real Estate Agency, Inc. and others located <br /> in Queens Gate, Cabarrus County, North Carolina. <br /> (6) The property of Cuthiel's Meats, Inc. located on'Landis Road, Rowan <br /> County, North Carolina. <br />(c) That each petition was signed by all property owners within the area <br /> requested to be annexed. <br /> (d) That each petition requests that all necessary action required by <br />Article 12 of Chapter 130 of the General Statutes of North Carolina for the <br />extension of the boundaries of the Kannapolis Sanitary District be taken so as <br />to annex the territory described in the petition Unto the Kannapolis Sanitary <br />District. <br /> (3) That it is for the best interest of the Kannapolis Sanitary District <br />and the various territories requested to be annexed unto the Kannapolis Sanitary <br />District that said territories be included within the boundaries of the Kannapolis <br />Sanitary District and receive the services of the Sanitary District. <br /> Section 2. That the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus <br />does hereby approve the annexation of each of the territories described in the <br />petitions unto the Kannapolis Sanitary District and does hereby recommend to <br />the North Carolina Commission for Health Services that it approve the annexation <br />of the territories unto the Kannapolis Sanitary District. <br /> Section 3. That the Clerk of the Board of Commissioners for the County of <br />Cabarrus is hereby directed to certify a copy of this resolution to the Director, <br />Division of Health Services, Department of Human Resources, State of North Carolina. <br /> <br /> <br />
