375 <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in regular <br />session at the Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina on Monday, February 11, <br />1980 at 9:30 A.M. <br /> Present - Chairman: Troy R. Cook <br /> Commissioners: Ralph C. Bonds <br /> Marcelle Milloway <br /> James W. Lentz <br /> J. Ray Allen <br /> The invocation was given by the Reverend Jesse Yarbrough of the Cold Water <br />Baptist Church. <br /> The minutes of January 14, 1980 were corrected to read as follows: <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Bonds, seconded by Commissioner Milloway <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Mrs. Donna Udovich and <br />Miss Naomi Tillman to the Cabarrus County Nursing Home Community <br />Advisory Committee for a three-year term as recommended by the <br />Administrators of the Nursing Homes in the County. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Milloway and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to delete "to represent industry" from <br />the minutes of December 27, 1979 for the minutes to read as follows: <br /> <br />The Board decided that the Sewer Authority should consist of two <br />members from the City of Concord, two from Cabarrus County, and one <br />from Cannon Mills. <br /> <br /> There being no further corrections, the minutes of December 27, 1979 and <br />January 14, 1980 were approved as corrected. <br /> Mr. Charles McGinnis, County Manager, reported that no bids were received <br />on February 8, 1980 for a one-year contract for supplying food service to the <br />Cabarrus County jail. He informed the Board that the manager of the Red Pig <br />Restaurant had indicated his restaurant would provide food for the jail at the. <br />price of $1.40 for breakfast and $1.50 per meal for lunch and dinner. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Bonds and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the purchase of food for the Cabarrus <br />County jail at the rate of $1.40 for breakfast and $1.50 per meal for lunch <br />and dinner for six days a week from the Red Pig Restaurant. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board tabled consideration of the disposition of <br />County property located on McCachern Boulevard to Vision Cable. <br /> Mrs. Barbara B. Brown, Chairperson of the Cabarrus County Council on the <br />Status of Women, was present to request that the Board declare the week of <br />March 8 - 15, 1980 as Cabarrus Women's Week. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Bonds and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following proclamation: <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Council on the Status of Women wishes to <br />be in partnership with a!l women to help themselves; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council encourages the personal and leadership development <br />of women; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council wishes to affirm the achievements of women and to <br />build awareness of their potential and disclose needs and develop resources <br />to meet their needs; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners does proclaim <br />March 8 - 15, 1980 as Cabarrus Women's week and a time of celebration for the <br />women of Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />This llth day of February, 1980. <br /> <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br />/s/ Troy Ray Cook <br /> Troy R.
