456 <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in special <br />session at the Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina on Wednesday, November 5, <br />1980, at 7:00 P.M. to discuss the Stonewall Jackson property. <br /> Present - Chairman: Troy Ray Cook <br /> Commissioners: Ralph C. Bonds <br /> Marcelle Milloway <br /> James W. Lentz <br /> J. Ray Allen <br /> Mr. John Boger, County Attorney, reported that he had talked with <br />Commissioner Lentz, Chairman Cook, Mr. W. K. Cowan, and Mr. Charles McGinnis <br />regarding the property at the park. He stated that he had looked into the <br />legal aspects of the land situation and had been involved in some negotiations <br />with Mr. Robin Hayes and his attorney. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Milloway <br />and unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into Executive Session to <br />discuss the legal aspects of the land situation at the Stonewall Jackson <br />Park. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Bonds and <br />unanimously carried, the Board terminated the Executive Session. <br /> Chairman Cook reported that the Board had authorized the County Attorney <br />and several Board members to continue negotiations with Mr. Robin Hayes for <br />a settlement of the property dispute at Jackson Training School. Mr. John <br />Boger stated that any proposed settlement to the dispute would be brought <br />before the Board of Commissioners for final approval and that a report on <br />the progress of the negotiations would be made to the Board in thirty (30) <br />days. <br /> The Board briefly discussed the parking situation in the parking lot <br /> at the rear of the County CourthouSe. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Bonds, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
