Penalties. <br /> Violation of any of the provisions of this article by any person shall <br />constitute a misdemeanor and, upon convication, a violator shall be <br />punished by a fine not to exceed Fifty Dollars ($50.00) or imprisoned for <br />not more than thirty (30) days. Each and every violation shall constitute <br />a separate and distinct offense. <br />Section 10. Bonds <br /> Chairman <br /> <br /> Chairman Bonds stated that this was the day and hour scheduled for a <br />public hearing for the naming of an Unnamed Road to Dewitt Drive and asked if <br />anyone were present who wished to speak for or against this road name change. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following road name change - <br />Unnamed Road to Dewitt Drive. <br /> Mr. H. C. Whitley, Fire Chief of the Georgewille Volunteer Fire Department <br />and resident of Mission Road in Cabarrus County, requested that the Board change <br />the nmme of this street to Mauney Road to eliminate the confusion that often <br />occurs between this road and the Mission Road located in Stanly County. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Chairman Bonds and <br />unanimously carried, the Board set a public hearing for 10:00 A.M. on January 5, <br />1981 for the following road name changes: <br /> <br />Mission Road to <br />Briarwood Circle to <br /> <br />Mauney Road <br />Sagebrush Circle <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the addition of Shore View Drive in <br />Lake Shore Estates to the state road system. <br /> Commissioner Cook made the motion to instruct the County Manager to <br />proceed with any changes to the telephone systems in County offices which will <br />reduce the cost of telephone service for the County as recommended in a <br />report submitted by the Concord Telephone Company after completing a survey <br />of all County departments. Motion was seconded by Chairman Bonds. <br /> UPON SUBSTITUTE MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner <br />Nash and unanimously carried, the Board agreed to table discussion of telephone <br />systems for County offices until the January 5, 1981 meeting. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br />unanimously carried, the Board amended the minutes of November 10, 1980 to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br /> That the Thoroughfare Plan as shown on a map entitled THE KAN-LA-CON <br /> THOROUGHFARE PLAN, dated September 17, 1980, and prepared by Cabarrus <br /> County in conjunction with members of the Kan-la-con area and the <br /> Planning and Research Branch, North Carolina Department of Transportation <br /> be approved and adopted as a guide in the development of the street and <br /> highway system in the Kan-la-con urban area and the same is hereby <br /> recommended to the North Carolina Board of Transportation for its <br /> subsequent adoption. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Bonds, seconded by Commissioner Cook and unanimously <br />carried, the Board moved to go into Executive Session to discuss a personnel <br />matter. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Chairman Bonds and unanimously <br />carried, the Board moved to terminate the Executive Session. <br /> Chairman Bonds reported that the Board had discussed the procedure for filling <br />the vacant position of Data Processing Manager. He stated that an advertisement <br />for this position would be placed in the local newspapers. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was <br />adjourned. <br /> <br /> Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
