549 <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in special <br />session at the County Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina on Monday, June 22, <br />1981, at 7:00 P.M. to conduct a public hearing on the proposed 1981-82 budget. <br /> Present - Chairman: Ralph C. Bonds <br /> Commissioners: J. Harold Nash <br /> Troy R. Cook <br /> James W. Lentz <br /> Kenneth F. Payne <br /> Chairman Bonds stated that this was the day and hour scheduled for a public <br />hearing for the 1981-82 budget and asked if anyone were present who wished to <br />speak regarding the budget. <br /> Mr. Max Moore, outgoing President of the Cabarrus County Veteran's Council, <br />requested that the Board approve an additional clerical position for the <br />County Veteran's Service Office. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Payne with <br />Commissioners Cook, Payne, Nash and Chairman Bonds voting for, the Board <br />approved the~appropriation of $9,000 in the 1981-82 budget to provide for <br />one employee to work at both the Veteran's Service Office and the Ambulance Service <br />Billing Office. <br /> Mr. James Graeber praised the work of the Board <br /> Chairman Bonds appointed Commissioner Nash to work with Commissioner Payne <br /> in gathering information regarding the proposed water and sewer project for the <br /> County. <br /> Chairman Bonds appointed Commissioner Cook as liaison to the Cabarrus <br /> County Ambulance Service. <br /> The Board instructed Mr. Charles McGinnis, County Manager, to invite Mr. <br /> James Radcliff, Director of Vocational Rehabilitation Services, to appear at a <br /> regular meeting of the Board to discuss the funding of this program. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Nash, seconded by Commissioner Cook and unanimously <br /> carried, the Board directed that the appropriation of $16,193 for Vocational <br /> Rehabilitation be included in the 1981-82 fiscal year budget subject to <br /> cancellation upon investigation of the program by the Board. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, Seconded by Chairman Bonds and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Budget Ordinance <br /> for the fiscal year 1981-82. <br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br />BUDGET ORDINANCE <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by this Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County, North <br />Carolina, meeting in session this 22nd day of June, 1981, that the following <br />fund revenues and departmental expenditures together with certain restrictions <br />and authorizations are adopted. <br /> <br />Section I.
