617 <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in regular <br />session at the County Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina, on Monday, <br />November 16, 1981, at 7:00 P.M. <br /> Present - Chairman: Ralph C. Bonds <br /> Commissioners; J. Harold Nash <br /> Troy R. Cook <br /> James W. Lentz <br /> Kenneth F. Payne <br /> The invocation was given by Dr. E. Eugene Hunsinger of the First <br />Baptist Church in Concord. <br /> In the absence of the Clerk to the Board, the minutes were recorded <br />by Ms. Cathie K. Isenhour. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Payne <br />and unanimously carried, the minutes of November 2 and November 11, 1981, <br />were approved as written. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Nash and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to delay the appointment of the <br />Domiciliary Homes Advisory Committee until the meeting on December 21, 1981. <br /> · Mr. Ken Barbee, representative of Piedmont Plastics, Inc. and Fenestra <br /> Corporation, requested the Board's support concerning the paving of Caldwell <br /> Road (SR 1173) from the railroad, tracks back to Piedmont Plastics' entrance <br /> by the State Highway Department before the end of the year. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Nash and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board agreed to write the State Highway Department <br /> to encourage the paving of Caldwell Road (SR 1173) as soon as possible. <br /> The Board instructed Mr. Charles McGinnis, County Manager, to draft <br /> a letter regarding Caldwell Road to Mr. Dave Roberts, Division Engineer of <br /> the State Highway Department. <br /> Commissioner Nash called the Board's attention to the present status <br /> of the bridges located on Centergrove Road. He reported that he had been <br /> unable to determine if these bridges were still scheduled as priority for <br /> survey work. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Nash, seconded by Commissioner Cook and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board directed Mr. Charles McGinnis, County Manager, <br /> to draft a letter to Mr. Billy Rose, State Highway Administrator, with a <br /> copy to Mr. John Q.
