It was also noted that a meeting was scheduled
in the Midland area on July 20 and that a dinner meeting sponsored by the
Agricultural Extension Service was planned for July 22 at the Central
Cabarrus High School. Members of the Board agreed to attend as many of
these meetings as possible to discuss water and sewer needs in the County.
UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Cook with
Commissioners Payne, Cook, and Lentz voting for and Vice-Chairman Nash
voting against, the Board authorized the administration of the $50,000.00
budgeted in the 1982-83 budget for salary adjustments and incentives with
the department heads to make recommendations for salary adjustments to the
County Manager on a quarterly basis. The County Manager is to report all
salary adjustments which are approved to the Board of Commissioners
quarterly.
The Board adjourned for a brief period of time but reconvened to hear
a complaint regarding zoning regulations from a citizen in the audience.
Ms. Edith Sides of 591 Cliffwood Street objected to the erection of
a six-foot fence around the Willis Flea Market property. She stated that
this fence which is required by zoning regulations would obstruct the view
from her home. Vice-Chairman Nash advised Ms. Sides that the Board would
take the matter into consideration.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting
was adjourned.

Clerk to the Board
