He
informed the Board that he had contacted Mr. Neal Smith, Director of
Consumer Affairs with the North Carolina Division of Insurance, on June 24,
1983, concerning the wall and hoped to receive information regarding possible
agencies to contact to resolve this problem.
Mr. Jerry Abrams of Abrams-Schletzbaum reviewed the Space Utilization/
Economic Feasibility Report for the Craig Building prepared by that firm
in May, 1983.
Chairman Nash asked Commissioners Lentz and Barnhardt to serve as
a Building Committee 'to work with architects and contractors regarding the
possible renovation of the Craig Building.
UPON MOTION of Chairman Nash, seconded by Commissioner Payne with
Commissioners Payne and Lentz and Chairman Nash voting for and Commissioners
Barnhardt and Milloway voting against, the Board appointed Abrams-Schletzbaum
as the architects for the Craig Building and asked that they, along with
the appointed Building Committee, make a preliminary investigation of the
building and present a report to the Board that contains a cost estimate for
a new building and a cost estimate for the renovation of the present building.
UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and
unanimously carried, the.meeting was adjourned.

Clerk to the Board
