446

B. Processing of Petition
Upon receipt of a sufficient number of petitions, studies will be
made to determine the feasibility of installing a water main, and if
impractical, the petitions will be kept on file for later consideration.
If the project is feasible and approved by the County Commissioners,
the property owners adjacent to the line may apply for a meter at the
standard meter charge. The applicant also agrees to pay at least the
minimum monthly charge after becoming a County water customer.

C. Subdivision Extensions
A developer desiring to connect a new subdivision will be required
to install the water mains, service lines, meter mounts, meter boxes,
hydrants, valves, and appurtenances at his own expense. Lines must be
installed to County standards on public rights-of-way or on a minimum
20 ft. wide dedicated easement and deeded to the County upon completion.
Plans will be submitted to the County for approval. Meters (3/4") will
be installed as requested for $50.00 plus the standard meter deposit
($25.00) and the cut-on fee ($10.00). Larger meters will be set at the
rates shown in the fee schedule labeled "Costs of Service Lines & Meters"
at the standard meter charge. Usage charges will not begin until the
meters are installed. Ail customers in existing subdivisions will be
required to have individual meters installed prior to acceptance of the
system'by the County.

D. Extensions in Shopping Centers, Mobile Home Parks and Multi-Family
Developments
Water lines may be extended into shopping centers, mobile home parks
and multi-family developments under the same provisions as in subdivisions
provided the developer dedicates a twenty (20) foot wide easement for
installation of the lines, and a five (5) foot easement for each service
line up to and including the meter.

E. Extensions on Right-of-Way
Should it be necessary for a developer to extend the County Water
System along an existing street in order to reach his subdivision, a 60-day
sign-up period shall be designated during which time the property owners may
obtain a meter at the reduced charge. The County may then participate in
the cost of the line to the extent that is justified by the number of signers.

F. Manifold Connections
Multiple dwellings on property of sin~gle ownership may be served by
a service connection with meter size determined on the basis of usage.
The Owner of the property shall be billed in accordance with the following
procedure:

1. Monthly usage will be divided by the number of single family
dwellings on the property.
2. The single family dwelling water cost will be determined from
the standard water rate schedule.
3. The Owner of the property will be billed the single family
dwelling water cost for each single family dwelling on the
property.
4. The minimum monthly bill shall be the minimum monthly rate for
each single family dwelling on the property.

At the owner's option the County will install a separate meter, at
the property line, for each single family dwelling on the property.

G. Fire Protection Facilities
Connections for fire protection system shall be made to the main line
by the County and shall consist of a standard detector meter, valves and
appurtenances in a concrete vault located on a dedicated easement off the
street right-of-way. The meter connection will conform to the County
Standard Master Meter Specifications and consist of a detector meter that
will register all ranges of flow. Fire protection water facilities
installed upon developer's private property are for the use of the developer,
and the County assumes no responsibility for such facilities. The County
will undertake to provide reasonable water lines serving such facilities.
