He stated that $1.00 of the requested increase was <br />needed to cover increasing expenses of the franchised garbage collectors <br />and that fifty cents (50¢) was needed for the proposed tipping fee at the <br />sanitary landfill. Mr. Hubert E. Hoglen, Jr., owner of Royal Garbage <br />Service, also presented a request for a rate increase for franchised garbage <br />collectors. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhardt, seconded by Commissioner Nash <br />and unanimously carried, the Board deferred the request for the refuse <br />collection increase until the next meeting. <br /> Mr. Ralph Hartsell, representative of the Cabarrus County Rescue <br />Squad, presented a request for an additional $40,000.00 of operating <br />money for the rescue squad. He explained that the rescue squad had a <br />reduction of income as they were no longer providing service to the <br />Charlotte Motor Speedway or the Concord Motor Speedway. Also, Mr. Hartsell <br />stated that the Cabarrus County Rescue Squad was providing back-up service <br />and answering calls for the Cabarrus Ambulance Service. The Board received <br />the request for consideration during budget preparation. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhardt, seconded by Commissioner <br />Payne and unanimously carried, the Board approved the following list of <br />insolvent accounts relieving the tax collector of the charge of taxes owed <br />by persons on the list that are five or more years past due in accordance <br />with G.
