From the canvass so made, this Board hereby determines <br />and certifies as follows: <br /> <br />(a) That 6172 voters were registered and qualified to vote. <br /> <br /> (b) That at said referendum 1089 votes were cast for the order <br />adopted on January 16, 1984, authorizing not exceeding $7,275,000 Water <br />Bonds of the Water and Sewer District of Cabarrus County, in Cabarrus <br />County, North Carolina, for the purpose of providing funds, with any <br />other available funds, for constructing a portion of a water system <br />for said District, including the construction and installation of <br />water mains and lines, water storage tanks, water pumping facilities <br />and appurtenant facilities for the transmission and distribution of <br />water to be provided by the City of Concord, North Carolina or Cabarrus <br />County, North Carolina and the acquisition of necessary land, rights of <br />way and equipment, and authorizing the levy of taxes in an amount <br />sufficient to pay the principal of and the interest on said bonds, and <br />399 votes were cast against said order, and that a majority of the <br />qualified voters of said District who voted thereon at said referendum <br />voted in favor of said order. <br /> <br /> Section 4. The Supervisor of Elections of the Cabarrus County <br />Board of Elections is hereby directed to transmit immediately a <br />certified copy of this resolution to the Board of Commissioners for <br />the County of Cabarrus. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of J. L. Fink, Sr., seconded by B. S. Brown, Jr., the <br />foregoing resolution was passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes: B. S. Brown, Jr. <br /> J. L. Little, Supervisor of Elections of the Cabarrus County <br />Board of Elections, of Cabarrus County, North Carolina, DO HEREBY <br />CERTIFY that the foregoing has been carefully copied from the recorded <br />proceedings of said Board at a meeting held on March 22, 1984 at the <br />County Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina, said record having been <br />made in Minute Book No. 3 of the minutes of said Board, beginning <br />at page 348 and ending at page 361, and is a true copy of so much of <br />said proceedings as relates to the canvass of the returns of the special <br />bond referendum held in the Water and Sewer District of Cabarrus County <br />on March 20, 1984. <br /> <br /> <br />
