540 <br /> <br /> STATEMENT OF THE RESULT <br /> of the <br /> SPECIAL BOND REFERENDUM <br /> held in the <br /> WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT OF CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> on March 20, 1984 <br />UPON THE QUESTION OF APPROVING AN ORDER AUTHORIZING <br /> $7,275,000 WATER BONDS <br /> <br /> At a special bond referendum held in the Water and Sewer District <br />of Cabarrus County, in Cabarrus County, North Carolina on March 20, <br />1984 6,172 voters were registered and qualified to vote. <br /> <br /> At said referendum 1,089 votes were cast for the order adopted <br />on January 16, 1984, authorizing not exceeding $7,275,000 Water Bonds <br />of the Water and Sewer District of Cabarrus County, in Cabarrus County, <br />North Carolina, for the purpose of providing funds, with any other <br />available funds, for constructing a portion of a water system for said <br />District, including the construction and installation of water mains <br />and lines, water storage tanks, water pumping facilities and appurtenant <br />facilities for the transmission and distribution of water to be provided <br />by the City of Concord, North Carolina or Cabarrus County, North <br />Carolina and the acquisition of any necessary land, rights of way and <br />equipment, and authorizing the levy of taxes in an amount sufficient to <br />pay the principal of and the interest on said bonds, and 399 votes were <br />cast against said order, and, a majority of the qualified voters of'said <br />District who voted thereon at said referendum having voted in favor of <br />the approval of said order, said order was thereby approved and is in <br />force and effect. <br /> <br />Board of Commissioners for the County of <br /> Cabarrus, North Carolina <br /> <br /> Section 2. The Clerk to the Board of Commissioners shall file a <br />copy of the foregoing statement of the results of said referendum in <br />her office and shall publish such statement once in The Concord Tribune <br />and The Kannapolis Daily Independent. A statement substantially in the <br />following form shall be published with the foregoing statement: <br /> <br /> Any action or proceeding challenging the regularity of this bond <br />referendum must be begun within 30 days after (date of publication). <br /> <br />Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Cabarrus, North Carolina <br /> <br />Section 3. This resolution shall take effect upon its passage. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Nash, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt, <br />the foregoing resolution entitled: "RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF <br />THE SPECIAL BOND REFERENDUM HELD IN THE WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT OF <br />CABARRUS COUNTY ON MARCH 20, 1984 UPON THE QUESTION OF APPROVING AN ORDER <br />AUTHORIZING $7,275,000 WATER BONDS" was passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: <br />Noes: <br /> <br />Commissioners Nash, Barnhardt, Milloway, and Payne and <br />Chairman Lentz <br />None <br /> <br /> Ms. Rebecca Yarbrough, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Program <br />Administrator with the Centralina Council of Governments, reported on <br />upcoming events planned by the Council of Governments. These events <br />included a zoning workshop for members of Planning and Zoning Boards and <br />a banquet to honor the outstanding Emergency Medical Technicians of the <br />region. <br /> Commissioner Nash proposed that the Board consider a contract with <br />Centralina Council of Governments to formally review the present Cabarrus <br />County Personnel Ordinance. He recommended that in conjunction with this <br />review that the Board appoint a special committee consisting of one or <br />two commissioners, a personnel specialist from the Council of Governments, <br /> <br /> <br />
