572 <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />Designate the Charles A. Cannon Memorial Library in the <br />City of Concord as the head library of a countywide system. <br /> <br />4) <br /> <br />Appoint a seven-member library board of trustees for the <br />county with the trustees to negotiate a contract with the City <br />of Concord for the joint administration of their library system <br />with administrative functions to be performed by the City of <br />Concord under that contract. <br /> <br />5) <br /> <br />Delegate to the county manager the appointment of the chief <br />librarian and other officers except for the employees of the <br />Charles A. Cannon Memorial Library in the City of Concord. <br /> <br />6) <br /> <br />Budget $48,000.00 for the 1984-85 fiscal year to be paid to <br />the Cannon Memorial YMCA for the purpose of keeping open the <br />library facilities presently existing in Kannapolis under <br />conditions specified by the Board of Commissioners. <br /> <br />7) <br /> <br />Continue support of the Charles A. Cannon Memorial Library <br />by the County of Cabarrus. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tennyson advised the Board that the Library Task Force would <br />meet again on May 29, 1984, and would present a final report and <br />recommendations to. the Board after that date. The Board accepted <br />M~. Tennyson's report as information only and no action was taken in <br />the matter. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Nash <br />and unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
