<br /> Commissioner Nash expressed appreciation for the opportunity of
<br />serving the people of Cabarrus County during his term of office.
<br /> Mr. Philip H. Smith, Sr., President of the Concord/Cabarrus County
<br />Chamber of Commerce, expressed appreciation to Commissioner Nash on behalf
<br />of the citizens of Cabarrus County and the Chamber of Commerce for his
<br />service as County Commissioner during the past four years.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Nash, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt
<br />and unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned.
<br />
<br /> At 10:00 A.M. on Monday, December 3, 1984, the Honorable James C.
<br />Davis, Judge of the Superior Court, administered the following oaths of
<br />office in the Commissioners' Room.
<br />
<br /> I, Kenneth F. Payne, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support
<br />the Constitution of the United States; so help me, God.
<br />
<br /> I, Kenneth F. Payne, do solemnly and sincerely swear (or affirm) that
<br />I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to the State of North Carolina,
<br />and to the constitutional powers and authorities which are or may be
<br />established for the government thereof; and that I will endeavor to support,
<br />maintain and defend the Constitution of said State, not inconsistent with
<br />the Constitution of the United States, to the best of my knowledge and
<br />ability; so help me, God.

<br /> I, Kenneth F. Payne, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support
<br />and maintain the Constitution and laws of the United States, and the
