213 <br /> <br /> UPON AMENDED MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Chairman <br />Lentz and unanimously carried, the Board authorized the imposition of <br />garnishment of wages and lien for ambulance service under the authority <br />contained in Article 9B of Chapter 44 of the North Carolina General Statutes <br />provided that the unpaid bill is in excess of $150.00. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Upright <br />and unanimously carried, the Board authorized Mr. Fletcher L. Hartsell, <br />Jr., County Attorney, to request the North Carolina General Assembly <br />to include Cabarrus County in North Carolina General Statutes Section <br />14-111.2, "Obtaining Ambulance Services Without Intending to Pay Therefor - <br />Certain Named Counties". <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Hamby and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Health Department <br />budget amendment to accept $4,875.00 in State funds for the Home Health <br />Program. <br /> <br />HEALTH DEPARTMENT <br />ACCOUNT # 58-10 <br /> <br /> Present <br />Line Item Approved Revised <br />Acct. Robinson, Planning Director, reported that it was <br />now the recommendation of the North Carolina Department of Transportation <br />that the bridge at Highway 49 and Highway 601 be widened to accommodate <br />five lanes of traffic on Highway 601 and four lanes of traffic on Highway 49. <br /> The Board again discussed concerns regarding the policy of the Building <br />Inspection Department to charge a double fee for a permit if work is <br />started prior to obtaining a permit. Chairman Lentz requested Commissioners <br />Barnhardt and Hamby to review the County's inspection fee policy and bring <br />recommendations back to the Board of Commissioners for consideration. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting <br />adjourned at 8:50 P.M. <br /> <br />~lerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
