Robinson, Planning Director, requested the Board's <br />support for House Bill 411 and House Bill 1165 which would increase <br />State funding for Land Records Management Programs. He stated that <br />Cabarrus County would be eligible to receive grant money to fund <br />the development of orthophotography if these bills become law. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Upright, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board authorized Chairman Lentz to sign a <br />letter in support of House Bill 411 and House Bill 1165 to be forwarded <br />to the local legislators. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhardt, seconded by Chairman Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board granted the Director of Social Services <br />signatory authority for entering into those contracts for services by the <br />Department of Social Services with various providers. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Upright, seconded by Commissioner Hamby <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Chairman Lentz as the official <br />voting delegate for Cabarrus County at the National Association of Counties <br />Annual Conference to be held in Orlando, Florida on July 13-17, 1985. <br /> The Board reviewed a letter from The Honorable Coy C. Privette, State <br />Representative, asking for input from the Board regarding House Bill 1234, <br />An Act to Establish a North Carolina Corrections Facility Finance Authority. <br />According to Representative Privette's letter, this bill currently being <br />considered by the House Corrections Committee would provide funds for the <br />construction and renovation of county jail facilities. <br /> <br /> <br />
