H. Mabrey, Sr., Emergency Services <br />Director. <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />~) <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />An increase in the Basic Life Support (BLS) base rate from $50.00 <br />to $60.00 and an increase in Advance Life Support (ALS) rate to <br />$85.00. <br />To drop the $150.00 minimum before collection of ambulance bills <br />before ambulance bills can be initiated. <br />To move ambulance fee collection to the Tax Collector's office to <br />provide for the separation of billing and collection services. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Chairman Lentz with <br />Commissioners Payne, Barnhardt, and Upright and Chairman Lentz voting for, <br />the Board approved the recommended increase in the Ambulance Service fees <br />with an increase in the Basic Life Support base rate from $50.00 to $60.00 <br />and an increase in the Advance Life Support rate to $85.00 and dropped the <br />$150.00 minimum before collection procedures as provided for under State <br />law can be started to collect outstanding bills. It was understood that <br />discretion would be used, as it has in the past, as to which accounts <br />should be actively pursued for collection. The effective date of these <br />changes is July 1, 1986. <br /> The Board indicated that the third request regarding the ambulance fee <br />collection by the Tax Collector's Office should be handled administratively <br />by the County Manager. <br /> The Board reviewed the request from Mr. R. L. Brownell, President of <br />Rowan Technical College, for the College to sublease the second floor of <br />the Carver School Annex Building for the administration of the JTPA Program <br />in Cabarrus County. <br /> Commissioner Upright stated that she was an employee of Rowan Technical <br />College. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Upright, seconded by Chairman Lentz with <br />Commissioners Upright, Payne, and Barnhardt and Chairman Lentz voting for, <br />the Board approved the sublease of the second floor of the Carver School <br />Annex Building to Rowan Technical College on a year-to-year basis with a <br />provision in the agreement that the lease is automatically renewed unless <br />one party or the other gives notice of cancellation 90 days in advance. <br />The Board instructed Mr. Fletcher L. Hartsell, Jr., County Attorney, to <br />draw up the appropriate lease for execution by the County and Rowan Technical <br />College. <br /> Mr. Charles D. McGinnis, County Manager, presented the proposed <br />1986-87 Cabarrus County Budget to the Board. <br /> <br /> <br />
