The form of the question to appear in the ballot frames of <br />or ballot booklets for the voting machines to be used at said referendum <br />shall be substantially as follows: <br /> <br />WATER BONDS <br /> <br />Shall the order adopted on February 16, 1987, <br />authorizing not exceeding $14,500,000 Water Bonds <br />of the County of Cabarrus, North Carolina, for the <br />purpose of providing funds, with any other <br />available funds, for enlarging and extending the <br />water system of said County, including the <br />construction of a dam and reservoir and <br />appurtenant facilities for the supply and storage <br />of water, the relocation or replacement of a <br />certain road and bridge necessitated thereby and <br />the acquisition of necessary land and rights of <br />way, and authorizing the levy of taxes in an <br />amount sufficient to pay the principal of and the <br />interest on said bonds, be approved? <br /> <br />YES ' <br />NO <br /> <br /> Section 5. The Clerk to the Board of Commissioners is hereby directed <br />to mail or deliver a certified copy of this resolution to the Cabarrus County <br />Board of Elections within three days after the adoption hereof. <br />Section 6. This resolution shall take effect upon its passage. <br />Thereupon, upon motion of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner <br />Melvin, the foregoing resolution entitled: "RESOLUTION CALLING A SPECIAL <br />BOND REFERENDUM" was passed by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Commissioners Hamby, Melvin, Payne, and Moss and Chairman Lentz <br /> Noes: None <br /> <br /> Mr. Fletcher L. Hartsell, Jr., County Attorney, presented the following <br />statement: <br /> <br />In the Executive Session at the conclusion of the meeting on January 19, <br />1987, the Commission, upon motion of the Chairman, seconded by <br />Commissioner Hamby and approved unanimously, agreed to resolve the <br />litigation pending in United States District Court, Middle District of <br /> <br /> <br />
