152 <br /> <br /> Mr. E. E. Bishop reviewed the progress of the stream improvement work in <br />Cabarrus County. He reported that only one bid had been received for stream <br />channelization from Coddle Creek at Highway 49 to Highway 73 and that the <br />Watershed Improvement Commission was recommending that the Board accept this <br />bid in the amount of $160.00 per hour from the Charles R. Fisher Logging <br />Company. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br />unanimously carried, the Board accepted the bid of $160.00 per hour from <br />Charles R. Fisher Logging Company for stream channelization from Coddle Creek <br />at Highway 49 to Highway 73 as recommended by the Watershed Improvement <br />Commission. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Melvin and <br />unanimously carried, the Board removed Mr. Ernest C. Troutman from the Board of <br />Trustees of the Firemen's Relief Fund for the Mt. Mitchell Fire Department due <br />to health reasons and directed that a letter of appreciation be sent to Mr. <br />Troutman for his service on that Board. The Board named Mr. Sam Brown as the <br />new trustee of the Firemen's Relief Fund for the Mt. Mitchell Volunteer Fire <br />Department. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Commissioner Hamby and <br />unanimously carried, the Board designated Chairman Lentz as the voting delegate <br />for Cabarrus County at the 80th Annual Conference of the North Carolina <br />Association of County Commissioners to be held in Charlotte on August 13-16, <br />1987. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Chairman Lentz and unani- <br />mously carried, the Board approved the following list of insolvent accounts <br />relieving Ms. Derelle Kiser, Tax Collector, of the charge of taxes owed by <br />persons on the list ~hat ar~ five or more years past due in accordance with <br /> <br />G.
