156 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br />unanimously carried, the Board set a public hearing for 7:30 P.M. on Monday, <br />August 17, 1987, for the closing of a portion of White Street and authorized <br />publication of notice for the public hearing. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Moss and unani- <br />mously carried, the Board by resolution approved the addition of the following <br />roads to the State road system: <br /> <br />Simmons Street Extension (Ext. SR 2474) <br /> Wrangler Drive <br /> Amarillo Drive <br /> Glen Haven Drive <br /> Alamo Court <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Chairman Lentz and unani- <br />mously carried, the Board reappointed Mrs. Margaret Stevens and Mr. Henry Land, <br />both of Kannapolis, to the Library Board of Trustees for a three-year term <br />ending July 31, 1990, and appointed Mrs. W. F. Alexander of Harrisburg to the <br />Library Board of Trustees for a three-year term ending July 31, 1990. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Chairman Lentz and unani- <br />mously carried, the Board ratified the Land Records Management Grant <br />Application to the State of North Carolina signed by the County Manager for a <br />State funds in the amount of $400,000.00 and adopted the following resolution. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE NORTH <br />CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION <br />QUALIFY THE CABARRUS COUNTY LAND RECORDS <br />MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR ANALOGOUS FUNDINGS <br />UNDER THE NORTH CAROLINA LAND RECORDS <br />MANAGEMENT PROGRAM AS ESTABLISHED BY <br />CHAPTER 1099, SESSIONS LAWS, 1977 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Cabarrus County recognizes a need to create a more efficient <br />standardized land record system with long range plans for modernization of its <br />land records; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has examined and duly <br />considered this resolution and considers it to be in the public interest and <br />to its benefit to file the request for funds under the North Carolina Land <br />Records Management Program; <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF <br />CABARRUS COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA, that the County requests that it be accepted <br />for funding for land records projects, and hereby expresses assurances to <br />comply with the Rules and Regulations Governing State Grants for Improvement <br />of Land Records. <br /> <br />This resolution adopted after motion, second and roll call on this date. <br /> <br />Dated: July 20~ 1987 <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br />Frankie F. Lentz <br /> <br /> The Board received the recommendation from Mr. F. E. Isenhour, Jr., Zoning <br />Administrator, that the fees for any case to be heard by the Cabarrus County <br />Zoning Board of Adjustment be increased to at least $280.00 per case. <br /> Motion was made by Commissioner Melvin and seconded by Commissioner Payne <br />to set the fee for all cases to be heard by the Zoning Board of Adjustment at <br />$280.00 per case. No vote was taken on this motion. <br /> UPON SUBSTITUTE MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Hamby <br />and unanimously carried, the Board set the fee for any case to be heard by the <br />Cabarrus County Zoning Board of Adjustment at $200.00 per case. <br /> Mr. Charles D. McGinnis, County Manager, reported that Mr. William P. <br />Ferriss had withdrawn his request to appear before the Board to discuss the <br />non-payment of the last invoice from W. P. Ferriss, Inc., for the 1983 <br />Revaluation. <br /> <br /> <br />
