C. 28220 <br /> <br /> Exhibit A, "Scope of Services" is included by reference as a part of <br />the minutes and is on file in the Office of the County Manager. <br />In response to the following questions by Commissioner Payne, Mr. <br />Watson provided information regarding the Coddle Creek Reservoir project. <br /> <br />Is our proposed dam/reservoir construction going to require <br />relocation of the NC 73 bridge over Coddle Creek? No. The <br />project proposes to relocate approximately 4000 LF of NC 73 <br />Highway located west of the Coddle Creek bridge. No highway <br />relocation is proposed within 1000 LF of the bridge. We are <br />proposing to relocate the NC 136 bridge over Coddle Creek and a <br />portion of the roadway on either side of the bridge. This is <br />because the travel surface of the existing bridge would be only 1 <br />foot above the 650 water level. The North Carolina Department of <br />Transportation has stated they will participate in funding this <br />bridge relocation. <br /> <br />Will our proposed dam alignment (location) require the removal of <br />the City's existing raw water pump station on Coddle Creek? No. <br />Our proposed dam alignment will be north of the present City pump <br />station. State regulations require a minimum downstream release <br />of flow at all times; therefore, the pump station can remain in <br />place with water available for pumping. <br /> <br />Has the City been consulted concerning the planning of the reser- <br />voir including property acquisition, financing~ dam alignment? <br />Yes <br /> <br />0 <br /> <br />Is there an approved set of plans and specifications for the dam <br />and reservoir that can be advertised for bids and construction <br />contracts awarded in the near future? No. Mr. Charles Gardner <br />and Mr. Jim Simons, Office of Dam Safety, Raleigh, have indicated <br />that there was no set of plans and specs which were approved and <br />it would take a minimum of 60 to 90 days to get a set of plans <br />approved so that they could be advertised for bids. <br /> <br /> The Board instructed the County Manager to renew an earlier request <br />from a firm to extract sand and minerals from the Coddle Creek Reservoir <br />basin. <br /> Mr. Paul Watson of HDR Infrastructure, Inc. presented the Preliminary <br />Engineerin~ Report Summary~ Cabarrus County Sewer Study to the Board.
