Reference Duke Power Company, check <br /> #711488, dated 7/10/87 in the amount of $5,980.00. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Hamby and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the addition of Family Drive Exten- <br />sion to the State secondary road system. <br /> Commissioner Melvin presented a written report from the committee <br />formed to gather information and make recommendations on the licensing of <br />cats and dogs in Cabarrus County. This report will be considered by the <br />Board at a later date. <br /> Mr. Paul Watson of HDR Infrastructure, Inc., reviewed the proposed <br />Engineering Services Agreement for the Coddle Creek Reservoir. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Hamby and <br />unanimously carried, the Board authorized the Chairman to sign the following <br />Agreement with HDR Infrastructure, Inc. of North Carolina for Professional <br />Engineering Services for Coddle Creek Reservoir. <br /> <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN CABARRUS COUNTY AND <br />HDR INFRASTRUCTURE, INC. OF NORTH CAROLINA <br /> FOR PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES <br /> <br />THIS IS AN AGREEMENT made as of September 8, 1987 between the OWNER, <br />Cabarrus County, with principal offices at Concord, North Carolina, and HDR <br />Infrastructure, Inc. of North Carolina, with principal offices at 6400 <br />Fairview Road, Charlotte, North Carolina, hereinafter referred to as <br />"ENGINEER". <br /> <br />OWNER intends to plan, design, and construct Coddle Creek Reservoir upstream <br />of Highway NC 73 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, consisting of a raw <br />water impoundment on Coddle Creek, raw water intake, raw water pump station <br />and associated piping, road relocation, and utility adjustment, hereinafter <br />called the "PROJECT". OWNER and ENGINEER, in consideration of their mutual <br />covenants, herein agree in respect of the performance of professional <br />engineering services by ENGINEER and the payment for those services by OWNER <br />as set forth below. <br /> <br />SECTION 1 - BASIC SERVICES <br /> <br />ENGINEER'S basic services and responsibilities are outlined herein and <br />further defined in the Appendix, Exhibit A, "Scope of Services", which is <br />part of this Agreement. <br /> <br />1.1. General. <br /> <br />1.1.1. ENGINEER shall provide, for OWNER, professional services in all <br />phases of the PROJECT to which this Agreement applies as hereinafter provided. <br />These services will include serving as OWNER's professional engineering <br />representative for the PROJECT; providing professional engineering consul- <br />tation and advice' and furnishing architectural, civil, structural, mechani- <br />cal, and electrical engineering services and related architectural/engineering <br />services incidental thereto. <br /> <br />1.1.
