192 <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in regular <br />session at the County Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina, on Monday, <br />October 5, 1987, at 9:30 A.M. <br /> Present - Chairman: James W. Lentz <br /> Commissioners: Kenneth F. Payne <br /> William G. Hamby, Jr. <br /> Martha H. Melvin <br /> R. Giles Moss <br /> The invocation was given by Reverend Frank L. Hare of the Calvary <br />Assembly of God. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br />unanimously carried, the minutes of September 21, 1987, were approved as <br />written. <br /> The Board reviewed the request for the transfer of the Community Based <br />Alternatives Wilderness Adventure Grant equipment from the Cabarrus County <br />Parks and Recreation Department to the City of Concord Parks and Recreation <br />Department. Mr. Steve L. Little, County Recreation Director, presented a <br />letter from Mr. C. D. McGinnis, County Manager, reported that the Mount Pleasant <br />Reservoir Funding Agreement was not yet ready and would be on the agenda for <br />the next meeting if it is ready at that time. <br /> Commissioner Chairman Lentz introduced the following order authorizing <br />bonds which was read: <br /> <br />ORDER AUTHORIZING $29,000,000 <br /> SANITARY SEWER BONDS <br /> <br />BE IT ORDERED by the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus: <br /> <br /> 1. That, pursuant to The Local Government Bond Act, as amended, the <br />County of Cabarrus, North Carolina, is hereby authorized to contract a debt, <br />in addition to any and all other debt which said County may now or hereafter <br />have power or authority to contract, and in evidence thereof to issue <br />Sanitary Sewer Bonds in an aggregate principal amount not exceeding <br />$29,000,000 for the pUrpose of providing funds, with any other available <br />funds, for enlarging and extending the sanitary sewer system of said County, <br />including the construction of additional sewage collector, force and inter- <br />ceptor mains and lines, additional sewage pumping facilities, additional <br />sewage treatment facilities and appurtenant facilities, and the acquisition <br />of necessary land, rights of way and equipment. <br /> 2. That taxes shall be levied in an amount sufficient to pay the <br />principal of and the interest on said bonds. <br /> <br /> <br />
