198 <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in recessed <br />session at the County Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina, on Tuesday, <br />October 13, 1987, at 7:00 P.M. <br /> Present - Chairman: James W. Lentz <br /> Commissioners: Kenneth F. Payne <br /> William G. Hamby, Jr. <br /> Martha H. Melvin <br /> R. Giles Moss <br /> Chairman Lentz reported that the Concord Board of Aldermen had cancelled <br />the joint meeting scheduled for this date due to concern of the health of <br />Mayor Bernie A. Edwards. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Melvin and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into Executive Session to discuss <br />possible land acquisition and possible litigation. The Board invited the <br />following persons to attend the Executive Session: Mr. Blair D. Bennett, <br />Finance Director; Mr. Walter C. Odell, III, County Engineer; and Messrs. A. L. <br />Henderson and Paul Watson of HDR Infrastructure, Inc. of North Carolina. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br />unanimously carried, the Executive Session was terminated. <br /> Chairman Lentz reported that the Board had been in Executive Session <br />discussing possible land acquisition and possible litigation and that no <br />decisions were necessary at this time. <br /> Chairman Lentz stated that the Board would be glad to meet with the <br />Concord Board of Aldermen at the County Courthouse at the earliest convenient <br />time. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 9:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
