219

October 13, 1987, and that the City had declined an invitation to meet with
the County on this date. It was further noted that it had been reported in
the newspaper that the City had issued an invitation for the Board of Commis-
sioners to meet with them on November 18, 1987.
UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Moss and unani-
mously carried, the Board moved to invite the City to meet with them in open
session at 7:00 P.M. on November 10, 1987, at the Courthouse to discuss the
Coddle Creek project.
Chairman Lentz acknowledged receipt of a letter from Mr. Leonard
Sossamon, Concord City Manager, sent to Mr. Paul C. Watson, Jr., P.E., of HDR
Infrastructure Inc. advising the firm to discontinue any and all future
surveying, soil borings and any other related work on property owned by the
City in the Coddle Creek Project. The Board of Commissioners did not elect
to change their contract with the engineering firm as it regarded ceasing the
work as required in that contract and specifically indicated for the firm to
continue to do the work. The Board instructed the County Manager to inform
the City Manager to in turn inform the City that work will continue on this
project.
Chairman Lentz recessed the meeting until 7:00 P.M. on November 10,
1987, at the County Courthouse.

Clerk to the Board
