384 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Chairman Lentz with <br />Commissioners Melvin and Payne and Chairman Lentz voting for and Commissioners <br />Moss and Hamby voting against, the Board moved to employ Adams, McCullough and <br />Beard of Raleigh to represent the County in pending litigation regarding the <br />Cabarrus County Governmental Center. <br /> The Board reviewed the 1988-89 County budget beginning with the Printing <br />Department and continuing through the Board of Elections budget. <br /> The Board deleted $6,450.00 from Line Item 860 in the Printing Department <br />budget for the purchase of a numbering machine. <br /> The Board reviewed the advantages and disadvantages of combining the Tax <br />Collector and County Assessor Offices as submitted by Mrs. Derelle Kiser and <br />Mr. Terry Rowland. <br /> The Board by consensus approved an appropriation of $12,460.00 in Line <br />Item 102, Part-time Salaries, in the County Assessor's budget. <br /> The Board reduced the appropriation for Line Item 445, Purchased Service, <br />in the Assessor/Revaluation budget from $185,000.00 to $110,000.00. <br /> Chairman Lentz adjourned the meeting at 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
