471 <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in regular <br />session at the County Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina, on Monday, <br />August 29, 1988, at 4:00 P.M. <br /> Present - Vice-Chairman: Kenneth F. Payne <br /> Commissioners: William G. Hamby, Jr. <br /> Martha H. Melvin <br /> R. Giles Moss <br /> Absent - Chairman: James W. Lentz <br /> Vice-Chairman presided in the absence of Chairman Lentm <br /> Commissioner Moss was absent for the beginning of the meeting. <br /> Mr. Alvin Stanford, County Extension Chairman, presented copies of the <br />North Carolina Agriculture From Mountains to the Sea published by the North <br />Carolina Association of County Agricultural Agents. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Vice-Chairman Payne with <br />Commissioner Melvin and Vice-Chairman Payne voting for and Commissioner Hamby <br />voting against, the Board approved the following Change Order 12-Gl for the <br />General Construction Contract with L. P. Cox Company for the Cabarrus County <br />Governmental Center in the amount of $17,160.00 and authorized the use of the <br />Chairman's signature stamp to complete the transaction. <br /> <br />Demolish the Cabarrus County Engineer's Office, Gulf Station, and Snyder <br />Building and dispose of all debris in a legal manner off site. <br /> <br />As per your proposal dated July 25, 1988, the itemized cost for this <br />demolition will be as follows: <br /> <br />Cabarrus County Engineer's Office $ 800.00 <br />Gulf Station 4,800.00 <br />Snyder Building 10~000.00 <br /> Subtotal $ 15,600.00 <br />OH&P 1~560.00 <br /> Total $ 17,160.00 <br /> <br /> It was noted that the demolition of the Gulf Station cannot be done until <br />the purchase of the property is finalized. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Vice-Chairman Payne with <br />Commissioner Melvin and Vice-Chairman Payne voting for and Commissioner Hamby <br />voting against, the Board approved the following Change Order 12-G2 for the <br />General Construction Contract with L. P.
