The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in regular
<br />session at the County Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina, on Tuesday,
<br />January 3, 1989 at 3:00 P.M. The meeting had been postponed from Monday,
<br />January 2, due to the New Year's holiday.
<br /> Present - Chairman: James W. Lentz
<br /> Commissioners: R. Giles Moss
<br /> William G. Hamby, Jr.
<br /> Martha H. Melvin
<br /> Billy J. Simmons, Jr.
<br /> The invocation was given by Reverend David R. Keck of the Kimball
<br />Memorial Evangelical Lutheran Church.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Moss, seconded by Commissioner Simmons
<br />and unanimously carried, the minutes of December 19, 1988 were approved as
<br />written.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Moss and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following change order in the
<br />amount of $3,670.00 for the Cabarrus County Jail Addition and agreed to
<br />discontinue any payment to Kimball Associates until a representative of
<br />the architectural firm comes before the Board to answer questions
<br />concerning procedures for the jail construction project.
<br />
<br />Change Order Number E-2 - Electrical Construction - R. D. Franklin
<br />Electric, Inc. Add $3,670.00 for the requested interconnection of
<br />new telephone backboard at room 106 with existing telephone backboard
<br />in existing jail; requiring installation of 3" conduit and associated
<br />fittings.

<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Moss, seconded by commissioner Hamby and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following budget amendment.
