CHECK TOTAL BID <br /> <br />Troxler Equipment Company <br />Washam Equipment, Inc. <br /> <br />X <br />X <br /> <br />$24,767.00 (Kubota) <br />$24,106.95 (John Deere) <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Melvin with <br />Chairman Lentz and Commissioners Melvin and Moss voting for, the Board awarded <br />the bid for the purchase of a tractor with attachments for the Sanitary Landfill <br />to the low bidder, Washam Equipment, Inc., in the amount of $24,106.95. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Moss, seconded by Chairman Lentz with <br />Commissioners Moss and Melvin and Chairman Lentz voting for, the Board approved <br />the purchase by the Health Department of two hemocues at $425.00 each to check <br />the hemoglobin of home health patients. Funds available in the Equipment and <br />Furniture line item of the Home Health budget will be used for the purchase of <br />this equipment. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Melvin with <br />Chairman Lentz and Commissioners Melvin and Moss voting for, the Board appointed <br />Ms. Jean Collins as the Youth Representative on the Cabarrus County Parks and <br />Recreation Advisory Commission for a term of one year ending July 31, 1990. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Commissioner Moss with <br />Commissioners Melvin and Moss and Chairman Lentz voting for, the Board appointed <br />Ms. Janet Fuller as an extraterritorial jurisdiction member of the Harrisburg <br />Planning and Zoning Board to fill the position previously held by Mr. Gary <br />Tolbert. Ms. Fuller's term of appointment will expire July 1, 1990. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Commissioner Moss with <br />Commissioners Melvin and Moss and Chairman Lentz voting for, the Board appointed <br />Ms. Susan Donaldson, Special Populations Supervisor with the Parks amd <br />Recreation Department, to the Transportation Development Plan Steering Committee <br />to replace Ms. Joan Swaringen who has left employment with the County. <br /> The Board received the written recommendation from Commissioner Simmons <br />relative to the duties and responsibilities of the District Representation Study <br />Committee. The Board deferred consideration of this recommendation along with <br />the appointments to the Committee until the next meeting. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Chairman Lentz with <br />Commissioners Melvin and Moss and Chairman Lentz voting for, the Board amended <br />the Closing Out Sales Ordinance for Cabarrus County to include the words "and <br />Kannapolis" at the end of Section l(b). <br /> <br />Section 1 <br />(b) This Ordinance shall apply to all areas of Cabarrus County outside <br /> of the municipalities of Concord, Mt. Pleasant, Harrisburg, and <br /> Kannapolis. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fletcher L. Hartsell, Jr., County Attorney, reported that the Cabarrus <br />Occupancy Tax bill, House Bill 813, had been adopted by the General Assembly. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Moss with Chairman <br />Lentz and Commissioners Moss and Melvin voting for, the Board set a public <br />hearing for 7:30 P.M. on Monday, August 21, 1989 to receive public input on <br />House Bill 813 as it deals with the proposed occupancy tax. <br /> Chairman Lentz recessed the meeting until the conclusion of the meeting <br />of the Board of Commissioners for the Water and Sewer District. <br /> Chairman Lentz reconvened the meeting of the Board of Commissioners. <br /> <br /> <br />
