273 <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in emergency <br />session at the County Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina, on Thursday, <br />December 14, 1989, at 5:00 P.M. The purpose of the meeting was to convene in <br />executive session in order to confer with the County Attorney regarding <br />unanticipated circumstances which required immediate consideration by the Board. <br /> Present - Chairman: James W. Lentz <br /> Commissioners: R. Giles Moss <br /> William G. Hamby, Jr. <br /> Martha H. Melvin <br /> Absent - Commissioner: Billy J. Simmons, Jr. <br /> It was noted that attempts had been made to notify Commissioner Simmons <br />of the meeting; however, he was out of town and could not be contacted. Reporters <br />from THE CONCORD TRIBUNE, CABARRUS NEIGHBORS, and WEGO Radio were present for <br />the meeting. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Melvin with <br />Chairman Lentz and Commissioners Melvin, Moss, and Hamby voting for, the Board <br />moved to go into executive session to confer with the County Attorney about legal <br />matters and to discuss matters relating to the location or expansion of <br />industries or other businesses in Cabarrus County. <br /> Commissioner Moss left the meeting during the executive session. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Melvin with <br />Chairman Lentz and Commissioners Melvin and Hamby voting for, the executive <br />session was terminated. <br /> Chairman Lentz reported no action from the executive session. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 6:10 P.M. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
