277 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Hamby and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the "Contract for Respite Care, <br />Temporary Placement" between the Department of Aging and Giles Leisure Home for <br />the period beginning October 1989 and continuing through June 30, 1990. The <br />purchase and delivery price for all units of service shall be as follows: A <br />unit price of $1.01 per hour for ambulatory participants and $1.06 per hour for <br />semi-ambulatory participants. The Contract is on file in the Office of the <br />County Manager and is hereby included by reference as a part of the minutes. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Hamby and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the "Contract for Respite Care, Adult <br />Day Care Facility" between the Cabarrus County Department of Aging and the First <br />Assembly Adult Day Care Center for the period beginning December, 1989 and <br />continuing through June 30, 1990. Hartsell, Jr., reported that there is no statutory <br />authorization for a County contribution to the Dogwood Fund to assist with the <br />purchase of 140,000 dogwood trees along the beltline in Raleigh. A letter is <br />to be written to Mr. Howard Barrow, Chairman of the Dogwood Project, explaining <br />the County's position in this matter. <br /> Mr. Michael M. Ruffin, County Manager, requested the appointment of two <br />Board members to meet with court officials to discuss the allocation of office <br />space in the Courthouse at such time the County offices are relocated to the new <br />Governmental Center.
