June 20, 2016 (Regular Meeting) <br />Page 2809 <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Pritesh Nagarji (Seat #8) to the <br />Cabarrus County Tourism Authority for a three -year term ending June 3C, 2019, <br />including an exception to the "residency" provision of the Appointment Policy. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Troy Taylor (Seat #12) to the <br />Cabarrus County Tourism Authority for a three -year term ending June 30, 2019, <br />including an exception to the "residency" provision of the Appointment Policy. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt, <br />the Board reappointed Tammy Whaley (Seat #9) to the Cabarrus County Tourism <br />Authority for a three -year term ending June 30, 2019. <br />(H -5) Appointments - Centralina Workforce Development Board <br />The terms of appointment for Milton Chicas "private sector" representative <br />and Traci Brunt "private sector" representative on the Centralina Workforce <br />Development Board (CWDB) ends June 30, 2016. Both are willing to serve another <br />term and a recommendation letter is attached. An exception to the "residency <br />provision" of the Appointment Policy will be needed for both of them as well as <br />an exception to the "length of service" provision for Mr. Chicas. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Milton Chicas and Traci Brunt to the <br />Centralina Workforce Development Board for two -year terms ending June 30, 2018; <br />including an exception to the `residency" provision of the Appointment Policy <br />for Mr. Chicas and Ms. Brunt and an exception to the " "length of service" <br />provision of the Appointment Policy for Mr. Chicas. <br />(H -6) Appointments - Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) <br />Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) terms of appointment for Megan <br />Baumgardner "District Attorney /Designee ", David Zienka "At- large" and Michelle <br />Wilson "At- large" end June 30, 2016. All are willing to serve another term. <br />The JCPC voted at their April 20, 2016 meeting to recommend them for <br />reappointment. An exception to the "length of service" and "multiple service" <br />provisions of the Appointment Policy will be needed for Ms. Baumgardner. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Megan Baumgardner to the JCPC as the <br />"District Attorney/ Designee" representative for a two -year term ending June 30, <br />2018; including an exception to the "length of service " and "multiple service" <br />provisions of the Appointment Policy. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed David Zienka and Michelle Wilson to <br />the JCPC as "At- large" representatives for two --year terms ending June 30, 2018. <br />(H -7) Appointments - Mount Pleasant Planning Board and Board of Adjustment <br />The County appoints three seats (extraterritorial jurisdiction) to the <br />Mount Pleasant Planning Board and Board of Adjustment. All three seats have <br />terms expiring on June 30, 2016. <br />Mr. Murdock, III and Mr. Moose, Jr. are willing to serve another term, <br />but would require an exception to the "length of service" provision of the <br />Appointment Policy. <br />Ms. Strickland (alternate) vacated her seat, and an application has been <br />received from Mr. Burleyson, who is willing to serve in her place, however it <br />was determined Mr. Burleyson does not reside in the ETJ area of Mount Pleasant <br />and is therefore ineligible to serve in that position. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed John Murdock, III and William <br />Whitaker Moose, Jr. to the Mount Pleasant Planning Board and Board of Adjustment <br />as regular members for three --year terms ending June 30, 2019; including an <br />exception to the "length of service" provision of the Appointment Policy for <br />Mr. Murdock and Mr. Moose. <br />(H -8) Appointments - Public Health Authority of Cabarrus County <br />Phyllis Wingate and Steve Morris serve on the Public Health Authority of <br />Cabarrus County and have terms ending June 30, 2016. Ms. Wingate is willing to <br />serve another term and a recommendation letter is attached. If reappointed, <br />
