June 20, 2016 (Regular Meeting) Page 2809 UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Pritesh Nagarji (Seat #8) to the Cabarrus County Tourism Authority for a three -year term ending June 3C, 2019, including an exception to the "residency" provision of the Appointment Policy. UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Troy Taylor (Seat #12) to the Cabarrus County Tourism Authority for a three -year term ending June 30, 2019, including an exception to the "residency" provision of the Appointment Policy. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt, the Board reappointed Tammy Whaley (Seat #9) to the Cabarrus County Tourism Authority for a three -year term ending June 30, 2019. (H -5) Appointments - Centralina Workforce Development Board The terms of appointment for Milton Chicas "private sector" representative and Traci Brunt "private sector" representative on the Centralina Workforce Development Board (CWDB) ends June 30, 2016. Both are willing to serve another term and a recommendation letter is attached. An exception to the "residency provision" of the Appointment Policy will be needed for both of them as well as an exception to the "length of service" provision for Mr. Chicas. UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Milton Chicas and Traci Brunt to the Centralina Workforce Development Board for two -year terms ending June 30, 2018; including an exception to the `residency" provision of the Appointment Policy for Mr. Chicas and Ms. Brunt and an exception to the " "length of service" provision of the Appointment Policy for Mr. Chicas. (H -6) Appointments - Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) terms of appointment for Megan Baumgardner "District Attorney /Designee ", David Zienka "At- large" and Michelle Wilson "At- large" end June 30, 2016. All are willing to serve another term. The JCPC voted at their April 20, 2016 meeting to recommend them for reappointment. An exception to the "length of service" and "multiple service" provisions of the Appointment Policy will be needed for Ms. Baumgardner. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Megan Baumgardner to the JCPC as the "District Attorney/ Designee" representative for a two -year term ending June 30, 2018; including an exception to the "length of service " and "multiple service" provisions of the Appointment Policy. UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed David Zienka and Michelle Wilson to the JCPC as "At- large" representatives for two --year terms ending June 30, 2018. (H -7) Appointments - Mount Pleasant Planning Board and Board of Adjustment The County appoints three seats (extraterritorial jurisdiction) to the Mount Pleasant Planning Board and Board of Adjustment. All three seats have terms expiring on June 30, 2016. Mr. Murdock, III and Mr. Moose, Jr. are willing to serve another term, but would require an exception to the "length of service" provision of the Appointment Policy. Ms. Strickland (alternate) vacated her seat, and an application has been received from Mr. Burleyson, who is willing to serve in her place, however it was determined Mr. Burleyson does not reside in the ETJ area of Mount Pleasant and is therefore ineligible to serve in that position. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed John Murdock, III and William Whitaker Moose, Jr. to the Mount Pleasant Planning Board and Board of Adjustment as regular members for three --year terms ending June 30, 2019; including an exception to the "length of service" provision of the Appointment Policy for Mr. Murdock and Mr. Moose. (H -8) Appointments - Public Health Authority of Cabarrus County Phyllis Wingate and Steve Morris serve on the Public Health Authority of Cabarrus County and have terms ending June 30, 2016.
