December 19, 2016 (Regular Meeting) .Page 2991 <br /> WHEREAS, CCTS recommends strategies for providing critical transportation <br /> services within the allocated amount of grant funding while reducing dependency <br /> on contracted transportation and County subsidies; <br /> THEREFORE, THE CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS RESOLVES TO ADOPT <br /> THE FOLLOWING RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CCTS TRANSPORTATION SERVICES PROPOSAL: <br /> 1. All grant related CCTS services will be provided within the funding <br /> given to the County and any required match. <br /> 2. All grant related CCTS Services will be provided using only CCTS vans <br /> when available to accommodate the requested trips. <br /> 3. All Elderly and Handicapped transportation grant trips will be related <br /> to medical appointments only, with the exception of any trips coded to <br /> this fund that are Cabarrus Vocational Opportunity trips. <br /> 4 . Daily trips will be allocated for each grant received, which will he <br /> the maximum number of trips provided on a given day. <br /> 5. Trips will be scheduled on a first come, first serve basis, and provided <br /> based on capacity. <br /> 6. All Elderly and Handicapped transportation grant trips will have a <br /> one--trip-per-day limit for all eligible clients. <br /> 7. All Home and Community Care Block Grant trips will be restricted to <br /> medical or congregate meal site trips. <br /> 8. Smit, Clerk to the Board <br /> (G-3) County Manager - Change Orders at Royal Oaks Elementary School <br /> Jonathan Marshall, Deputy County Manager, reported on a memorandum from <br /> Tim Lowder, Cabarrus County Schools (CCS) , Executive Director for Operations, <br /> which provided details on some unexpected expenses for the Royal Oaks Elementary <br /> School replacement project. The memorandum also included proposals on how they <br /> would recommend paying those expenses. He advised CCS is requesting approval <br /> to use contingency for the remainder of the funding required., which requires <br /> the Board' s approval. He further advised, approval would require approval of <br /> authorization for the Finance Director to prepare the related budget amendment <br /> and project ordinance updates. <br /> Following a brief discussion, Commissioner Shue MOVED to approve the <br /> change order request for Royal Oaks Elementary School in the amount of <br /> $87, 360.00 with authorization for the Finance Director to prepare the related <br /> budget amendment and project ordinance updates.
