Smit, Clerk to the Board <br /> (G-2) Planning and Development - Morehead West Area Plan - Public Hearing 6:30 <br /> P.M. <br /> Susie Morris, Planning and Zoning Manager, presented the final draft of <br /> the Morehead West Area Plan for the Boards' consideration. She stated the plan <br /> has been approved by the Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Commission, the <br /> Harrisburg Town Council and the Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning Commission. <br /> She advised a public hearing is required as part of the consideration for the <br /> co-adoption of the Morehead West Area Plan. <br /> Chairman Morris opened the Public Hearing at 7:17 p.m. The Public Hearing <br /> Notice was published on May 3 and 10, 2017 in The Independent Tribune. The <br /> Public Hearing Notice was also posted on the County' s website <br /> (www.cabarruscounty.us) on May 3, 2017 in accordance with Article 2, <br /> Administration, Section 2.1 (Use of Electronic Means to Provide Public Notices) <br /> of the Cabarrus County Code of Ordinances. <br /> There was no one present to address the Board; therefore, Chairman Morris <br /> closed the public hearing. <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board approved the co-adoption of the Morehead West <br /> Area Plan. <br /> (G-3) County Manager - Amendment to Chapter 50 of the Cabarrus County_ Code of <br /> Ordinances - Public Hearing 6:30 P.M. <br /> Jonathan Marshall, Deputy County Manager, presented the proposed <br /> ordinance and revised text document for the purpose of amending Chapter 50 <br /> (currently Parks but proposed to be Active Living and Parks) of the Code of <br /> Ordinances. He advised a public hearing and adoption of the ordinance are <br /> required for approval of the proposed changes. <br /> Chairman Morris opened the Public Hearing at 7:19 p.m. The Public Hearing <br /> Notice was posted on the County's website (www.cabarrus county.us) on May 3, <br /> 2017 in accordance with Article 2, Administration, Section 2.1 (Use of <br /> Electronic Means to Provide Public Notices) of the Cabarrus County Code of <br /> Ordinances. <br /> There was no one present to address the Board; therefore, Chairman Morris <br /> closed the public hearing. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Kiger and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board approved the changes and adopted the ordinance <br /> amending Chapter 50. <br /> Ordinance No. 2017-29 <br /> Ordinance Amending Chapter 50, Parks <br /> of the Code of Ordinances in Cabarrus County, North Carolina <br /> Be it ordained by the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners that Chapter <br /> 50, Article I, In General, and Article II, Sex Offenders, of the Code of <br /> Ordinances in Cabarrus County, North Carolina is hereby amended as follows: <br /> Change the name of the Chapter from "Parks" to "Active Living and Parks" to <br /> reflect the department name change and to include other department facilities. <br /> Article I. In General <br /> Make amendments as shown on the attached track changes document to update the <br /> name of the department and make other changes as necessary. <br /> Article II. Sex Offenders <br /> Make amendments as shown on the attached track changes document to update the <br /> name of the department. <br /> Adopted this the 15th day of May 2017 . <br />
