July 3, 2017 (Work Session) Page 3219 <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board adopted the Resolution Amending the Cabarrus <br /> County Board of Commissioners' 2017 Meeting Schedule. <br /> Resolution No. 2017-13 <br /> Resolution Amending the <br /> Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners' <br /> 2017 Meeting Schedule <br /> Whereas, on December 19, 2016, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br /> adopted a meeting schedule for calendar year 2017, which sets forth the dates, <br /> times and locations of various official county meetings; <br /> Whereas, the Board desires to hold a summit, at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, <br /> July 27, 2017 at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center in Concord, North Carolina; <br /> Now, therefore be it resolved, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br /> hereby amends its 2017 Meeting Schedule as follows: <br /> 1. The Board of Commissioners will hold the Cabarrus Summit 2017 <br /> 2nd Quarterly Meeting at 6:00 p.m. on July 27, 2017 at the <br /> Cabarrus Arena and Events Center in Concord, North Carolina. <br /> Adopted this the 3rd day of July, 2017. <br /> /s/ Stephen M. Morris, Chairman <br /> Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br /> Attest: <br /> /s/ Megan Smit <br /> Megan Smit, Clerk to the Board <br /> SRCAA - Request for Letter of Recommendation <br /> Megan Smit, Clerk to the Board, advised a member of The Salisbury Rowan <br /> Community Action Agency (SRCAA) has requested a letter of recommendation for <br /> the appointment of Mr. Wendell Fant as the permanent Cabarrus County <br /> representative should the Board agree. It was noted Mr. Fant is currently <br /> employed by Cabarrus County-Schools. <br /> A brief discussion ensued. During discussion Ms. Smit and Mike Downs, <br /> County Manager, responded to questions from the Board. <br /> BOC NACo Voting Credentials - 2017 Annual Conference (Continued) <br /> There was discussion regarding the voting delegate for the North Carolina <br /> Association of County Commissioners (NCACC) Annual Conference to be held in <br /> August. <br /> Commissioner Kiger MOVED to amend the earlier motion to designate Chairman <br /> Morris as the voting delegate at the NACo to also designate him as the voting <br /> delegate for the NCACC Annual Conference. Vice Chairman Honeycutt seconded the <br /> amended motion and the MOTION unanimously carried. <br /> Approval of Regular Meeting Agenda <br /> The Board discussed the placement of the items on the Agenda. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Kiger and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board approved the July 17, 2017 Agenda as follows: <br /> Approval or Correction of Minutes <br /> • Approval or Correction of Meeting Minutes <br /> Recognitions and Presentations <br /> • Active Living and Parks - Recognition of Cabarrus County <br /> participants in the 2017 National Senior Games <br /> • Human Resources - Recognition of Sergeant Eric Sossoman on his <br /> Retirement from Cabarrus County Sheriff' s Office <br /> • Planning and Development - Construction Standards Recognition of <br /> Tim Gray <br />
