August 21, 2017 (Regular Meeting) Page 3271 <br /> Interim Clerk to the Board <br /> (F-12) KCS - Request to Reappropriate FY17 Capital Funding <br /> Kannapolis City Schools (KCS) had $470, 509.24 in annual capital funding <br /> at the end of June 30, 2017. The school system is submitting a request to have <br /> the funds reappropriated to FY18 . <br /> UPON MOTION by Commissioner Kiger, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board approved the Kannapolis City Schools FY17 <br /> reappropriation request in the amount of $470, 509.24 and approved the related <br /> budget amendment. <br /> Date: 8/21/2017 Amount: $470,509.24 <br /> Dept. Pursuant to N.C.G.S. 20-187 .2, it is requested <br /> that Sergeant Sossoman's service weapon (Sig Sauer P226, 40 caliber, serial <br /> number 47C011138) be declared surplus and awarded to him for the price of $1.00. <br /> UPON MOTION by Commissioner Kiger, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board declared a service weapon (Sig Sauer P226, 40 <br /> caliber, serial number 47C011138) as surplus property and awarded it to Sergeant <br /> Eric Sossoman for the price of $1.00 upon his retirement. <br /> (F-15) Tax Collector - New Tax Collection Services Contracts for Harrisburg, <br /> Kannapolis, Locust Midland and Mt. Pleasant <br /> The County entered into a contract with the City of Concord to collect <br /> all property taxes on behalf of the City. By adding Concord to the process, <br /> this enabled the County to reduce the rates charged to all the other <br /> municipalities from a percentage of operations cost based on number of bills <br /> generated to a flat $2 per bill. Attached is a comparison of the fees anticipated <br /> to be received by the County. <br /> (This section is intentionally left blank. ) <br />
