UPON MOTION by Chairman Morris, seconded by Commissioner Shue and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Betty Babbs to the Cardinal Innovations Healthcare Solutions Community Oversight Committee for a three-year term ending July 31, 2020, including an exception to the "service on multiple boards" provision of the Appointment Policy. (H-3) Appointments - Mental Health Advisory Board An appointment is needed to fill the vacant "Local Attorney" position on the Mental Health Advisory Board. UPON MOTION by Chairman Morris, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Jay White to the Mental Health Advisory Board for a two-year term ending December 31, 2019. (H-4) Appointments - Concord Downtown Development Corporation (CDDC) The Concord Downtown Development Corporation (CDDC) has requested a Board or staff member to represent the County at their board meetings. UPON MOTION by Chairman Morris, seconded by Commissioner Kiger and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Jonathan Marshall to represent the County on the Concord Downtown Development Corporation Board. (I) REPORTS (I-1) County Manager - Monthly New Development Report The Board received the monthly new development report for informational purposes. No action was required of the Board. (I-2) County Manager - Monthly Reports on Building Activity The Board received the Cabarrus County Construction Standards Dodge Report for July 2017, and the Cabarrus County Commercial Building Plan Review Summary for July 2017 for informational purposes as part of the Agenda. No action was required of the Board. (I-3) EDC - July 2017 Monthly Summary Report The Board received the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation (EDC) monthly report for the month of July as part of the Agenda. No action was required of the Board. (I-4) Finance - Monthly Financial Update The Board received the monthly financial update for informational purposes. No action was required of the Board. (I-5) Sheriff's Office - Quarterly Report The Board received the Sheriff' s Office Quarterly Report for informational purposes. No action was required of the Board. (I-6) BOC - Receive Updates from Commissioner Members Who Serve as Liaisons Commissioner Poole provided each commissioner with an updated list for the Metropolitan Planning Organization Division 10 projects. Chairman Morris expressed appreciation to the Library for their programs, most recently the eclipse program. (I-7) Request for Applications for County Boards/Committees Applications are being accepted for the following County Boards/Committees: • Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee - 6 Vacant Positions • Centralina Workforce Development Board - 1 Vacant Position • Concord Planning and Zoning Commission (ETJ) - 1 Vacant Position • Home and Community Care Block Grant Committee - 1 Vacant Position (DHS/Designee/Disabled Adults)
