<br /> (F-6) Finance - Write-off of Ambulance Receivables for FY2013 - $1,037,503
<br /> As allowed in North Carolina General Statute 44 .51.4, the County may treat
<br /> the amount due for ambulance services the same as if it were a tax due to the
<br /> county. The County's policy is to keep three years of ambulance receivables
<br /> plus the current year's receivables on the General Ledger. This policy allows
<br /> the outstanding receivable balance of $1, 037, 503 for Fiscal Year 2013 to be
<br /> written off.
<br /> The Emergency Medical Services Department has exhausted all means of
<br /> collections for the Fiscal Year 2013 bills.

<br /> UPON MOTION by Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and
<br /> unanimously carried, the Board authorized the Finance Department to write-off
<br /> the outstanding receivable for Fiscal Year 2013 ambulance bills.
<br /> (F-7) Human Resources - Personnel Ordinance Updates
<br /> The Cabarrus County Personnel Ordinance has been fully reviewed and Human
<br /> Resources is requesting numerous updates. A summary of the proposed changes has
<br /> been provided, and were reviewed at the work session, along with a description
<br /> of the review process utilized.
<br /> UPON MOTION by Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and
<br /> unanimously carried, the Board adopted the recommended Personnel Ordinance
<br /> changes.
<br /> (F-8) Sheriff' s Office - Cabarrus County Animal Shelter Adoption Event
<br /> The Cabarrus County Animal Shelter has received a $2,500 grant for an
<br /> animal adoption event. Grant funding is from the American Society for the
<br /> Prevention of Cruelty of Animals (ASPCA) through the Subaru Share the Love
<br /> Partnership. The grant will cover the adoption fee for 25 animals from the
<br /> shelter. This event is planned for mid-October 2017.
<br /> UPON MOTION by Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and
<br /> unanimously carried, the Board accepted the grant and waived the adoption fees
<br /> on the 25 animals involved in the event.
<br /> UPON MOTION by Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and
<br /> unanimously carried, the Board authorized the Finance Director to prepare the
<br /> appropriate budget amendment.
