With there being no one else to address the Board, Chairman Morris closed that portion of the meeting. (E) OLD BUSINESS None. (F) CONSENT (F-1) County Manager - Request Funding for Local Positions based on the State Salary A memo was received from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College requesting $15, 912.36 to fund local positions at the community college based on the state budget funding for state positions. Each year, after the state budget is passed, a request is made to provide the local match for equal funding for these staff members. The program income was generated by the HOME Program, and is required to be put back into the program and expended prior to any other financial drawdowns. Since the amount is too small to do a stand-alone project, staff is recommending that the $7,200 be added to the funds for the Prosperity Ridge Elderly Housing Project. UPON MOTION by Commissioner Kiger seconded by Commissioner Shue and unanimously carried, the Board accepted the grant award and adopted the associated budget amendment and project ordinance. These additional funds are a payoff from a previous grant project and are required to be put back into HOME grant projects. The HOME 2015 grant will be used in conjunction with the HOME 2016 grant and two non-profit agencies to assist with a project that will provide affordable housing opportunities for low to moderate income seniors. This grant was approved by the Board of Commissioners on March 21, 2016.
