See Item G- <br />(F -6) General Services - Request to Purchase County -Owned Propert <br />Rinker Commercial Properties, representing Bright Parsun LLC, has <br />submitted a request to purchase County property adjacent to the Bright Parsun <br />owned building at 70 and 82 Union Street South. A letter detailing this <br />request, a survey of the Bright Parsun and County property and a detailed <br />survey of the area included in the request to purchase are attached. The <br />purchaser is offering .$6,000.00 for this property. <br />This property is located across Union Street South from the County <br />Courthouse and is used for access to the Spring /Barbrick County Parking Lots. <br />The access would not be affected by the sale of the property. <br />The General Statutes detailing the Methods of Sale (GS 160A -266) and <br />Upset Bid process (GS 160A -269) are both attached. The first step in the <br />process is to decide whether to consider the offer and begin the process of <br />advertising for upset bids. This item will come back before the Board of <br />Commissioners once an advertised 10 -day upset bid period has been completed <br />without any additional qualified bids. At that point the Board may decide to <br />accept or reject the highest bid. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded Commissioner Measmer and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the Resolution Authorizing Upset Bid <br />Process for the Union Street South Property. <br />Resolution No. 2014 -16 <br />Resolution Authorizing Upset Bid Process <br />Union Street South Property <br />WHEREAS, Cabarrus County is the owner of a parcel of land located at 86 <br />Union Street South and identified as part of Parcel Identification Number <br />5620 -97 -1492 (the "Property ") as indicated on attached maps, which is surplus <br />to its needs; and <br />WHEREAS, N.C. General Statute 16CA -269 permits the County to sell real <br />property by upset bid, after receipt of an offer for the property; and <br />WHEREAS, the County has received an offer to purchase an approximate <br />1,000 square feet part of the Property described above in the amount of <br />$6,000.00, submitted by Rinker Commercial Properties for their client Bright <br />Parsun, LLC; and <br />
