During discussion, Pam Dubois, Deputy County <br />Manager, and Susan Fearrington, Finance Director, responded to questions from <br />the Board. <br />Commissioner Measmer seconded the MOTION. <br />Commissioner Oesterreich expressed his support for the motion. <br />Vice Chairman Burrage expressed his intent to vote against the motion. <br />Chairman Poole expressed her intent to vote against the motion. <br />Following further discussion, the MOTION failed with Commissioners <br />Measmer and Oesterreich voting for and Chairman Poole, Vice Chairman Burrage <br />and Commissioner Morris voting against. <br />(H) APPOINTMENTS TO BOARDS AND COMMITTEES <br />(H -1) Appointments (Removal) - Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee <br />The Regional Ombudsman requests the removal of Joye Starnes from the <br />Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee roster due to failure to attend <br />required quarterly training and failure to complete required facility visits. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner Measmer <br />and unanimously carried, the Board removed Joye Starnes from the Adult Care <br />Home Community Advisory Committee roster. <br />(H -2) Appointments and Removal - Cabarrus County Youth Council <br />Kail Amoakon (at -large position) has submitted her resignation from the <br />Cabarrus County Youth Council effective September 25, 2014. <br />Mariana Mendez has submitted an application for an at -large seat on the <br />Cabarrus County Youth Council. Mariana is home schooled and is in the 12th <br />grade. She is expected to graduate in June, 2015. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Measmer, seconded by Vice Chairman Burrage <br />and unanimously carried, the Board removed Kail Amoakon from the Cabarrus <br />County Youth Council roster and thanked her for her service. By the same <br />motion, the Board appointed Mariana Mendez "At-- large" to the Cabarrus County <br />Youth Council for a two -year term ending June 30, 2016. <br />(I) REPORTS <br />(I -1) County Manager - Monthly Reports on Buildinq Activit <br />The Board received the Cabarrus County Construction Standards Dodge <br />Report for October 2014 and the Cabarrus County Commercial Building Plan <br />Review Summary for October 2014 for informational purposes as part of the <br />Agenda. No action was required of the Board. <br />(I -2) EDC - October 2014 Monthly Summary Report <br />The Board received the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation (EDC) <br />monthly report for the month of October as part of the Agenda.
